bomber, rating from memory, i really can’t stand this attempt at a scotch ale. malts seem weak and flat with mild roast and sweet flavor. just not complex, interesting, or that tasty.

Pours quick disappating head. Color is dark orange. Taste is sweet, but not necessarily malty, though there are malty tones in the aftertaste. Scent is clean with nothing particularly sticking out. Clean palate too. As a Scotch ale its OK, but I’d rather it was maltier. It just doesn’t scream at me, "Buy me!!"

Purchased in La Mesa, CA at BevMo 10/06. 22oz bomber poured out in a nice deep copper color with thin tan head. Light aroma of sweet and roasted malts along with a slight pine and citrus hoppiness. The flavor is big sweet malts to roasted malts to something like vanilla, maple syrup and a vague fruitiness. Nice. In the background is a soft muted hop flavor that sneaks in about midway.

22oz bottle poured a dark brown color with a decent off white head. Aroma was roasted malts, caramel, toffee and some smokiness. Taste was full bodied and loaded with caramel, toffee and roast with a small hop profile. Overall a nice scottish ale that will not disepoint.

Pours a dark maroon with a quickly diminishing light white head. Kind of a unique musty smell of molasses, ketchup, and dark malts. i really didnt care for it that much. Thetaste was better than the smell. I get alot of caramle in this one along with spices, malts, and a trace of cinnamon. Finish was pretty smooth, alcohol was masked nicely. It was ok, nothing special.

Above average scotch ale. It was a crowd pleaser. Familiar flaovors of caramel, toasted malts and barely intrussive hops. good solid one from Moylans.

I liked this beer. Deep copper color with some red highlights. Peaty, toffee, light caramel, chocolate and slightly sweet. Vanilla maybe some butterscotch - in a good way. I like this brewery.

22oz bottle pours copper with a short tan creamy head that fades back to a ring but laces a little from there. Aromas of caramel, toffee, and some earthy notes as well. Flavor is caramel, toffee, toasted malts, and some light grapefruit on the finish. Palate leans towards the malty side. A little chalky but pretty smooth overall. Slight bitterness on the finish. Not a bad scotch ale..
