Pours ruby-brown with ample off-white head. Nice, malty nose with a hint of caramel. Flavor is very smooth with a big accent on the clean malt profile. Very little hop presence, as is to be expected. Slight peatiness. Not cloying at all; quite refreshing. Head fades fast with just a little lace.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, biegaman & mds -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a murky copper-brown with a large creamy off-white head. Nice aroma of sweet malt, hops, some smoke and toffee. Slightly mild flavour of sweet caramel malt with some touches of smoke and chocolate. Medium bodied. Didn’t blow me away but it’s quite good.

Bottle. Dirty/hazy brown body wit a small white/brown top. The aroma is rye-ish with prominent caramel notes, and sweet vegetables. Lots of caramel flavour and sticky sugar. Smoke lingers in the middle- carbonated mouthfeel. Pretty solid mild complexity. Easy to drink.

22 oz bomber. Hazy orange brown beer, fast fading off-white head. Aroma is caramelly, brown sugar, toast, some orange fruit and light plumminess. This bottle hasn’t been very well-kept I don’t think though. Oxidized and sourish flavour. Sweet maltiness but lacks a great deal of complexity as well. Not what I wa looking for at all... but I’ll revisit when I get a chance.

Bottle (650ml). Shared with biegaman, blankboy and mds - my bottle. Murky orange-brown, creamy thin beige head. Sweet and delicately spicy boozy aroma, very malty, light green minty hops. Light taste, malty chocolate, leafy green hops, light booze - quick finish, nice balanced finish. Syrupy body, lightly carbonated, feels excellent on the tongue - my bottle was in good shape, we all liked it quite a bit.

Nice color. Pours an auburn/brown with an orange hue. Minimal off white head. Aroma is cinnamon, malty and slightly flowery. Very thin body, with a slight balsamic vinegar tartness upfront, with a later toffee character. Herbal note of chamomile and English tea. Slight thin watered down lemon juice character, but not a good one which would arive from hops; just a strange flavor. Thin and watery all together. I don’t believe that it’s 8% alcohol.

This is odd in flavor, tart and funky, I think something was wrong with this bottle. Not very good. 7th beer at the tasting party.

Bottle from Craig. Brown color with malty, funky aroma. The taste was the same with sweet/sour flavor. I really want to like scotch ales but I don’t. Thanks Craig.
