Poured hazy brown with giant off-white head. Good carbonation. Caramel hoppy aroma. Medium bodied Scotch-style ale that starts semi-dry with light malt sweetness and toasted malt/caramel/hop flavors. Finished dry with light malt fade. Well-balanced and smooth. Definite alcohol warmth. This is a very good ale. tromboneman (17), USA

It has a very watery goodness that almost takes me somewhere and then it drops me on my bum. I was pleased with the first taste but as the beer went on... it went on for far too long. Moylan has not impressed me. hopdog (5614), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a deep and lightly cloudy amber color with a huge, huge sized off white head. This one poured almost all head. Lots of little floaters. Aromas of peat, toffee, earth, and caramel. Tastes of caramel, light peat, light chocolate, and toffee. Not overly complex but enjoyable. I expected the body to be fizzy and overcarbonated from the loud psst upon opening and huge head, but it wasn’t. Alcohol content well hidden. xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA

Medicinal herbal sour flavor. old/oxidized/infected? bitter. no roast or good hops flavor. drainpour unfortunately. marvinpontiac (117), Huntington Beach, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 31, 2006 Lighter in color than most of the other scotches I’ve tried recently - kind of copper/mahogany. The 8% alcohol is well masked and the malty sweetness is overpowering. Little to no hop aroma/bitterness to speak of. FezMonkey (268), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 19, 2006 Sigh...yet another Scotch Ale that calls itself Kilt Lifter, Kilt Tilter, Off-Kilter, etc. 22 ounce bomber purchased at Town and Country in West Springfield, MA. Banana yeasts, some cidery notes also present in the aroma. I smell a little sweetness as well, a little butterscotch/diacetyl. Somewhat acidic nose, though. Moderately hazy amber-ish color with a small, quickly dissipating off-white head. Kind of light in color for a scotch ale. Some acidic, lightly astringent notes to start, which turn sweeter, with butterscotch and caramel notes. Finishes grainy, cereal-like, and a bit smoked. The alcohol is well-hidden, but this is just off.
