The color is an amber with a light tan head. The maltiness comes through at the forefront and a finish has some hop flavor. Snojerk321 (2022), San Diego, California, USA

Pleasant, clear, garnet colored beer with a gigantic light tan head. Good lacing. Aroma has hints of sweet malt, perhaps a touch fruity. LIght bodied and far too carbonated to enjoy. Thin flavors, a bit winey. I am thinking that this is infected. Nothing to look at folks, move along. OldGrowth (1434), North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 5, 2006 Bottle, from Julio’s. Ok nose. Malty. Peaty, Kalamta olive, black tea, latex paint, maybe a little cherry. Clean brownish orange color, small head that faded quickly, no lacing. Malty aroma, like aroma. Medium body, lite creamy oily mouthfeel, nutty sweet finish. Huh, don’t know about this one. I didn’t like it’s mix of aroma’s and flavors. Oh well. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 13, 2006 Big hiss as the cap comes off, pouring a translucent cherry-brass color with an audibly fizzing and booming foamy tan head. Liquefied brown sugar, golden raisins, soggy Honey Bunches of Oats, cinnamon apple sauce, whicker baskets and beachwood smattered with honey do little to excite the mouth’s chance at deciphering this aromatic train wreck. Brown sugar sweetness comes in first for flavor, recessing with caramel dipped apples that are stamped with cheap chopped peanuts. Surprisingly, the flavor overcomes a few aromatic obstacles. Maple syrup pancakes borderline a confounded McGriddles approach. Along with the most dormant hint of peat, a curt hop bite and dactylic alcohol hang around post sip each time, eventually becoming quite cumbersome and the unavoidable downfall. Creamy, fizzy, percussive sweetness across the palate, with a maple syrup delima, and overcarbonated from the get-go. Maple nut fudge and caramel drizzles comprise the finish. "Scotch" ale is a stretch. "Big Brown" might be more in line with what we’ve got here. ghstride83 (4), Hemet, California, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2006 Great aroma and taste. Quite a malty flavor in it. Not much to say other than drink it on an empty stomach. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2006 Updated: Jul 13, 200622 oz bottle. and on draft in a local restaurant. In spite of the admonition to let this warm up I poured it chilled. Dark copper colored with big tan head. Carmel nose with nice malts. Good taste. Slightly bitter finish. If this is what a Scotch Ale is supposed to taste like then this is a winner. Shucks, who cares about the label. Thisi is good!
