Kilt lift S5L2F2T4O8: On tap at the Bocktown, nice place. A diminutive amount of fruit on the olfactory, comes across rather friendly to the nose. Brown red clear brew with no carbonation, looks completely flat. Earthy alky and buckskin flavors. Has some carob or choco backdrop. Not as burly as I anticipated but alky flavors build thru the session. Slight CO2 on the tongue. Acceptable finish tho somewhat medicinal

Mild peat-like smokiness under sweet malts and floral hops in the nose. Clear amber brown body is topped by a low off white head that recedes rapidly to a ring and partial cover. Flavour suggests marzipan nutty sweetness with light smoky notes and a hint of dark malts. Honey-like musty sweetness and almonds linger in the aftertaste. Medium light body is a bit watery in character with somewhat low carbonation. Tulip glass. Just above cellar temperature. Bottle purchased at the Brewery Creek in Mar-09.

Enjoyed with Steve, DrBayern and CelticBrew who managed to keep his kilt down! Poured a dark amber color with a lacy head. Aroma was all malt. Great mouthfeel. taste had some nuttiness to it.

22-oz. bottle in Albuquerque. Pours a dense dark brown. Very slight head. Malt aroma. Medium body, big malty flavor with some caramel sweetness. Low-carb mouthfeel, fairly clean. No noticeable alcohol until late. OKAY

Bottle. Pours clear brown with a small, fizzy, off-white head, mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toffee, nutty), light hops (grass), average yeast (earth) with notes of date and cola. Medium bodied, oily texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

Draft. Medium brown color with an off-white head. Aroma is lots of sweet caramel malt. Flavor is also very malty with some earthiness, caramel, and molasses. Nice smooth, medium-full palate with alcohol noticeable. Not bad for the style.

Pours a muddy brown with a thin head. Sweet caramel and a touch of molasses in the aroma. The flavor is surprisingly peaty and yet surprisingly thin so the alcohol comes on a little strong. THere is some dark fruit and caramel that I struggle to pick up. Decent.

pours a ruby caramel color with a very thin light tan colored head...retention is pretty poor. aroma has some fruit...maybe fig?...vanilla, molasses and red licorice with light alcohol. flavor has red licorice too with dark fruit, caramel, vanilla, light scotchiness and mild spicy hops. mouthfeel is silky and the finish is roasty and long. tasty scotch ale.
