blipp (1630), Newark, New Jersey, USA Nov 8, 2009 Draft. Pours orange gold with a thin white head. Hoppy aroma with floral and citric notes. The flavor has floral hops, a light sweetness and a nice bitter hoppy finish. Not bad. Bitzybrew (28), New York, New York, USA Nov 7, 2009 MMM... Nice juicy hops blended with some caramel notes from the malts. Some alcohol in the aftertaste. On tap at RNH while watching yankees win the world series. ricke (63), Malme, Sweden Nov 2, 2009 Golden amber with a couple of cm of off-white head that lingers on for quite a while before settling into nice looking chunky lacings.
The smell is very very hop forward. Tropical fruits (grapefruit, kiwi, mango) mixed with pine-needles, resins and mint. A very fresh and "green" hop profile. Some fudge and a restrained smell of malts. No sign of alcohol. A very nice smell, balanced and delightful.
The taste is good as well. Unfortunately, the hops are not as "green" and fresh as in the smell. They lack some precision as well. But still, there’s plenty of tropical fruit (grapefruit, kiwi), resins and pine-needles. The minty note reappears as well. The malts are restrained but is noticeable with a soft and round caramel-like taste. Some fudge. Quite a lot of sweet flavors actually. The finish is really bitter, but the bitterness has a great timing to it and feels really integrated and not assertive. Plenty of pine-needles, hop resins and notes of bread. Perhaps a faint note of alcohol.
Rather full body, not very sticky. Quite crisp.
A very good DIPA, well made and a showcase of good craftsmanship. Balanced and rather complex. The hop profile very nice. Drinks really easily and is very refreshing.

(Copy of old Beer Advocate review) fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Nov 2, 2009 Bottle 66cl. @ home. Clear medium amber orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, heavy hoppy, orange. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090723] stobbe74 (655), Denmark Nov 1, 2009 Bottle, 22 fl. oz. Pours a golden beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is hops (grass). The flavor is Malt and hops (grass). The palate is bitter. Overall a good average beer. Leighton (234), New York, New York, USA Oct 28, 2009 Amazingly piney and sticky IPA. Had some on tap at Rattle n Hum. Wonderful hop aroma is backed up by the intense flavor, which posesses notes of grapefruit and pine tar. Heavy, lip-smacking goodness. Very bitter and dryiing. Really an experience. beernovice39 (240), South Carolina, USA Oct 28, 2009 Hmm, the scent of HOPS! Thick cloudy yellow. Stare at the beauty. It tastes great but I think their hopsickle is a tad better. austone (999), Turku; Pori, Finland Oct 22, 2009 66cl bottle at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Golden, small pale head. Very sugary nose, sultana raisins, faint pine, pineapple soap. Flavor is soap, citric hops, shampoo, pineapple, hints of pine, sugariness and did I mention the soapiness? Dull and simple shampoo bitterness. Almost full bodied, slightly warming soft palate. Just sugar and awful hopping. Maybe this has spent a bit too much time travelling around.
