| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 4, 2009 Rindey grapefruit and exotic citrus aroma. Hazy deep gold. Mode exotic citrus in the flavor. Good solid bitterness, very solid malt heft. Well balanced, with a tiny touch of oxidation on the palate, but Im going to chalk that one up to storage. Very nice, well done. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 3, 2009 This is an orangey amber colored beer with a small white head. Bubblegum, peaches, and tangerine in the aroma. Flavor is very fruity up front with hints of cantaloupe, peach, tangerine, and orange peel. There’s a touch of pine and a pleasant hop bite at the finish. Tastes strong but not boozy. This is high quality stuff and I’m stoked to have it available in my area. islay (477), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 3, 2009 22 oz. bottle, consumed on 1-1-09. Hops dominate an aroma that is one of the fruitiest that I’ve ever received from any variety of pale ale. Pine, citrus, melon, watermelon bubblegum, and fruity pebbles scents. Pours a slightly hazy, effervescent gold. Surprisingly pale color. Small bubbles. Moderate to large amount of uneven, long-lasting, beige head. Nice lacing. Aggressive hops dominate the remarkably dry, piney taste. There’s an underlying sweetbread flavor to the malts. Long, dry, bitter aftertaste. Medium body. Frothy and lively in the palate. Moylander is a solid double IPA, but it isn’t particularly complicated outside of the fruited aroma. ucusty (1900), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2009 Hazy copper pour. Piney aroma. Piney hop flavor with an excellent malt profile. Bitter resinous finish Slipstream (768), USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2009 Herbal and pine flavored hops. And more piney hops. And more hops, but it is still balanced. Some alcohol warmth too. Smells great. An excellent IPA. Dorwart (1821), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 2, 2009 Good sized head of light and fluffy bubbles. Wonderful sprucy hops aroma with some caramel malts, toasted bread and pine sap. Color is a hazy deep amber. Woah, big bitterness up front with lots of red peanut skins, grapefruit rind and some pine. Lots of roasted malts and caramel for balance. Full bodied. The roastyness is a bit harsh and kicks up late swallow. Finishes bitter and resinous with some sticky malts. Late alcohol kick. A pretty decent IIPA but the bitterness and roastyness are a bit on the harsh side. Not as succulent as it could be. nearbeer (1846), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 26, 2008 650 ml. Clear, shiny-penny hue with a lasting disc of cream that leaves frost all over the pint. Nice blend of caramel, tree resin and grapefruit in the aroma. Maybe some light ginger as well. Flavor is grapefruit sprinkled with unsweetened cocoa, resin, earthy orange-caramel. Some light pepper-ginger and woody notes mix well in there somewhere too. Almost-medium body is smoothly carbonated, perfectly balanced between dry and sweet, and watery vs. syrupy. Hop-tingly and dry on the finish. mrhoppy (214), Santa Clara, California, USA
