Sort of a light front, a huge middle, and a great bitter finish. I noticed some interesting spice notes that kind of distinguish this from just the hopslam imperial IPA crowd. Very good, and would have this again, in fact I have, thegreenrooster (1842), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 29, 2008 Pour is a cloudy orange with no head. Aroma is piney/citrus hops. Flavor is again piney/citrus hops with a low malt profile. Alcohol is no problem and the finish is smooth and easy going down. Decent but not mind blowing for this style. dirtcampbrew (4), , Colorado, USA does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Nov 27, 2008 Typical west coast 2IPA. A big hop nose wonderfully aromatic with tones of floral/citrusy hops. A well supported malt backbone. A good mouthfeel overall. A beer worthy of its style. jbuzz (661), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2008 Bomber. Pours a nice orange with a fluffy, off-white head that laces a bit. Aromas are grapefruit & pineapple, with a bit of sugary sweetness underneath. Flavor is a great take on the double IPA… not overpoweringly sweet or alcoholic or unbalanced towards a hops explosion. There are plenty of citrus/pine hops to go around, but the sweetness from the malt keeps them in check and things only go a bit awry in the late aftertaste which seems to have a decidedly bitter grapefruit peel taste on every other sip or so. Still, this is very drinkable.

Haven’t had a full-bodied IPA in so long I’ve almost forgotten what they taste like. Been used to flowers and dish soap lately. Yes, an excellent, chewy, good smelling and tasting DIPA. Would definitely recommend this one. oakbluff (300), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 17, 2008 22 ounce bomber- pours a slightly hazy tangerine colour with a sticky head. Nose- blast of glorious hops: pine needles and grass. Taste- more of the same. Intense bitterness - resiny, sticky bittering hops attack the mouth. Malts take a backseat with this one. Some pale and caramel malts show up in the background, mostly to give a little body to this hop water. Very drying in the finish. Mouth is devoid of any form of hydration it seems after a glass of this. Some sweetness does show up in the finish. Body is good, just enough to hold up the hops, medium carbonation. Second bottle of this I’ve had, enjoyed this one more than the first. I’d try again. piscator34 (1133), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 1, 2008 Bottled sample. Clear orange in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas of tangerine, pine sap, and grapefruit. In the mouth, the citrusy-woody hops are front and centre, with a fairly dry malt backbone. Very drying and bitter, even by IIPA standards, and the bittering isn’t all that smooth. It’s fairly good overall, but not quite top class.
