Commercial Description:
Our Moylander Double IPA is fat and resiny, with aggressive and excessive hops swinging on an enormous malt backbone like naughty monkeys on a vine. Double malt, double hops - do the math, it's academic.

Pours orangish with a nice whitish head and good lacing. Fresh, hoppy, piney, fruity nose. Taste is bitter pine, sap, and fruity hops. Bitterness adds and adds as you drink it and it becomes almost overwhelmingly bitter. Smooth creamy body and nice soft carbonation make the mouthfeel perfect. Only complaint was that it was a bit too bitter for its own good.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is clear medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, cookie), lightly to moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin, flowers), lightly yeasty (dough), with light notes of aspirin and dried papaya. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic, lightly to moderately astringent. Typical abrasive west-coast style DIPA. Thankfully (for me, at least) the hop aroma is a bit on the weak side for the style (these are brand new to Colorado, so I’m kinda surprised a fresh batch doesn’t have more hop odor), but they certainly (over)assert themselves in the bitterness/acidity/astringency department.

22 oz bottle. Foggy peach brown with a brief bubbly head. Nose is grilled pineapple and grapefruit pith. Begins crisp and refreshing finally revealing resin and some heft. Taste is caramel and orange nicely balanced with pine, a bit of soap. Just what I expect from a good DIPA.

full and fruity aroma, almost strawberry, with honey and pine. flavor not so harmonious--some grapefruit harshnes, distant sweetness. clear light amber color with modest head; bit of weight in the mouth masks the decent carbonation. harsh finishw/definite warming

Yummy yummy beer, drinking it presently with some super-fattening chips. "Naughty hops" is right, over the top but taste is right. From bottle from Bevmo Mountain View

Nice amber/peach pour. Head is above average, lacing is minimal.Nose is pine and citrus with a touch of earth. Taste comes right out at you - pine and citrus, with a decent maltiness. Mouthfeel is silky and the finish stays forever. A very nice IPA.

Alefest sample. Amber in color with a decent white head and lacing. Aroma of floral, earthy, and citrus hops. Very nice bitterness that last throughout. Mouthfeel is good along with the carbonation. Could be better but there isn’t much I can complain about. Solid.

22 oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a frothy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is big fruits and melon, some piney hops, a bit of caramel and a touch of alcohol.

The flavor is some caramel malts with a pretty harsh piney floral resiney hop bitterness. There’s a little fruitiness in there as well. It has a bit of a medicinal note, maybe from the alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium to light bodied with light carbonation and slightly watery.

Overall, pretty similar to the Hopsickle - a huge unbalanced hop bomb, but with a flavor profile that doesn’t quite do it for me. It’s slightly better as it’s not as abrasive. As it warms, it becomes more enjoyable - more sweetness and fruitiness comes out to balance it somewhat. Cold it was not too pleasant, but after sitting a bit, I really enjoyed it.
