Commercial Description:
Our Moylander Double IPA is fat and resiny, with aggressive and excessive hops swinging on an enormous malt backbone like naughty monkeys on a vine. Double malt, double hops - do the math, it's academic.

Nice amber/peach pour. Head is above average, lacing is minimal.Nose is pine and citrus with a touch of earth. Taste comes right out at you - pine and citrus, with a decent maltiness. Mouthfeel is silky and the finish stays forever. A very nice IPA.

Alefest sample. Amber in color with a decent white head and lacing. Aroma of floral, earthy, and citrus hops. Very nice bitterness that last throughout. Mouthfeel is good along with the carbonation. Could be better but there isn’t much I can complain about. Solid.

22 oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a frothy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is big fruits and melon, some piney hops, a bit of caramel and a touch of alcohol.

The flavor is some caramel malts with a pretty harsh piney floral resiney hop bitterness. There’s a little fruitiness in there as well. It has a bit of a medicinal note, maybe from the alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium to light bodied with light carbonation and slightly watery.

Overall, pretty similar to the Hopsickle - a huge unbalanced hop bomb, but with a flavor profile that doesn’t quite do it for me. It’s slightly better as it’s not as abrasive. As it warms, it becomes more enjoyable - more sweetness and fruitiness comes out to balance it somewhat. Cold it was not too pleasant, but after sitting a bit, I really enjoyed it.

Intriguing, hazy orange pour with an off-white head that leaves nice lacing. Very strong pine aroma with a well rounded taste. Excellent amount of hops, but just enough sweetness to cut through the bitterness. Very astringent finish, though.

Pours hazy amber/orange with off white head. Big grapefruit hop aroma and sweet maltiness. Chewey, resinous pine hop flavor. There isn’t much maltiness to balace the big hop bitterness. Thiis definately a hop bomb. Medium body with average carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel.

Smells of pine hops. Pours a light copper color with a white head that leaves decent lacing down the glass. Taste is grapefruit hoppiness, nutty caramel malt flavor, and a touch of alcohol. Very bitter, hardly distinguisable from their hopsickle IPA.

This beer has long been a favorite of mine, but I have not had one in probably two years. In fact, I haven’t reviewed anything in about that long. I’m enjoying one now, a bomber, by myself. The beer pours a cool orange copper with a thin, white, lacy head. Aroma is light pine and tangerine. I love the bottle’s description of the taste as "fat and resiny." It is certainly that. Indeed, it reminds me of a bitter tree sap. Malt balances the massive hops nicely, if not completely. Alcohol is hidden well. I have stayed away from these intensely hoppy beers lately (I guess everyone has had to somewhat), but this beer reminds me of what I love about them. The flavor lingers for minutes on the palate and pretty much ruins my tastebuds for the rest of the night. Nice brew.

Bottle: pours a hazy orange with a frothy white head, hoppy, pine and citrus aroma, taste is very hoppy and piney...mostly hops. I am a big fan of DIPAs but I prefer most of my DIPAs to have some balance...this one doesn’t have any balance. It’s not bad, just not what I look for.
