| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 9, 2008 Wow....totally over rated. Not very good at all. Oversweet and surupy on the fore-palate, the malt is much too heavy. So is the alcohol. I completely agree with chronictonic that this is a trend in "extreme" beers that seems to try to make barleywines out of double IPAs. My wife, Quillaraymi said it best: "I like high alcohol beers, but I don’t want to taste the alcohol. Also, where is the character in the hops, where is the medley of pine spruce, citrus, freshness...this is anti-fresh. Now, I did buy in Ohio, so maybe it doesn’t travel well but I doubt it... chronictonic (404), Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jul 27, 2008 Smells like homebrew. Kettle-burnt malt aromas with some medium citrus hop notes. Flavor is very sickly sweet up front. Slightly sour, burn caramel maltiness. This flavor is becoming more common in extreme beers and I do not like it. We were trying to pin down whether it’s sugars being added, or a sweet malt being used that gives this particular flavor. It could also be a particular yeast that is common amongst commercial micros for use in high abv beers. After the sick sweet flavor you’re socked with raw, unripe, grapefruit peel hoppiness. Thank god the hops help clear the malt ugliness. Nevertheless, this was our 2nd beer of the night to meet Mr. Sink. SuperDave70 (1158), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 15, 2008 Clear gold pour with a foamy white head. Lots of sweet malt and citrus and pine hops in the aroma. Very similar flavor. Really sweet up front, and big grapefruit peel and juice on the finish. Not as hoppy as many DIPA’s and a bit sweeter, but a good brew overall. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA

This DIPA was weaker than most, but had a grapefruit kick in front. Nice overall dedication to fresh hops and the gamet of citrus flavors. Oscbert (550), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 28, 2008 ~Pours light cloudy golden with a good amount of carbonation and a fluffy big white head.
~Grapefruit hop aroma with a touch of honey sweetness
~Flavor starts of bitter grapefruit and quickly turns malty sweet. Interesting turn of events in the flavoring.
~Medium to full bodied. Feels a bit chunky, dry bittersweet finish.
~This is a nice enjoyable IPA. Flavor seems a bit off though. It’s good though. Maybe a bit too malty for my taste, to give it a better rating. Chipper (188), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 26, 2008 Pours a clear copper with a modest off white head. Very, very hoppy on the palate and very drinkable, even on this warm afternoon. Not much malt but a little fruit in the back. Overall an excellent beer.
