~Grapefruit hop aroma with a touch of honey sweetness
~Flavor starts of bitter grapefruit and quickly turns malty sweet. Interesting turn of events in the flavoring.
~Medium to full bodied. Feels a bit chunky, dry bittersweet finish.
~This is a nice enjoyable IPA. Flavor seems a bit off though. It’s good though. Maybe a bit too malty for my taste, to give it a better rating. Chipper (194), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 26, 2008 Pours a clear copper with a modest off white head. Very, very hoppy on the palate and very drinkable, even on this warm afternoon. Not much malt but a little fruit in the back. Overall an excellent beer. Skeegle (503), Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 18, 2008 This was a great double IPA that had tons of citrussy hoppiness that counterbalanced the higher alcohol. This actually drank like a well hopped and very aggressive IPA instead of a double IPA. Very crisp beer for it’s higher 8.5%abv. Hoptagon (145), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 15, 2008 22oz. Bottle. Pours a golden orange color with a thin white head. The hops are noticeable even as the beer is being poured. Aroma is strongly hoppy with bits of grapefruit and flower petals. Some grassy hops and sweet crystal malt in the flavor. The malt profile is well balanced and keeps the beer from being one dimensional. Mouthfeel is sticky, resinous and somewhat oily on the tongue. Bittering hops really come through in the end and lend a warming, dry and long lasting finish to the beer. Pretty much everything you would expect from a very solid double IPA. jrob21 (1283), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jun 13, 2008 Sweet citrus aroma. Clear golden color. Serious thick white lacing. Smuggled this one back from VA recently and am glad I ran into this. Sticky sweet flavor with citrus (orange) hop flavors. Finishes with a piney and very metallic sort of element. Well balanced and full bodied. HopBackDoc (395), Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 11, 2008 Pours a copper color with nice white head. Aroma of floral and citrus hops. Good malt background that is countered by citrus hops followed by a nice dry finish. Medium bodied and very drinkable. A double IPA that isn’t a complete hop bomb. crazyvin (1255), New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 11, 2008 poured a nice orange amber hue with a white head. Aroma had strong pine notes and some sweet malts. Flavor seemed to have more hops then malts but was still very good. a nice crisp finish that was not too dry. westknife (17), USA
