WHOA!, this is super bitter. probably the most bitter beer i’ve ever had, and i’ve had a ton of ipa’s. Lots of grapefruit and pine in the flavor. a little bit of a malt and some vanilla. undetectable alcohol. A pretty good IIPA but i need a bit more sweetness to balance the absurd bitterness. the bottle has the most obnoxious label ever. writing in different directions, colors, fonts everywhere, 10 different logos (not including the beer itself), and a map on it. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 27, 2007 Bottled: Pours a deep orange with some clarity and is topped by a creamy off white head that laces. The aroma is sticky hops. Has some sweet apricot notes, citrus/orangey hints, a perfumy bouquet and some evident malt presence. The initial flavor is just pure bitterness. The next few sips mellow out a bit. Has lots of piney bitterness, but the malt holds the body quite well. Has some grapefruit, peppermint, peach, and flowery notes. The malt gives it a subtle caramel background and some sweet doughyness. The finish is very long resiny and bitter. This is a very bitter IIPA. Sometimes I question the difference between hop depth and pure bitterness...but this stuff is still enjoyable. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Apr 23, 2007 Bottled. Hazy golden coloured with a rather large head. Nice aroma. Malty with notes of flowers, pines, hops, citrus and caramel. Bit sharp. tbookman (618), Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 21, 2007 Medium amber color, slightly cloudy with a big head. Aroma is piney, stong notes of sweet citrus/grapefruit. Flavor is rich and lively, hops pretty well balanced with a nice sweet malt backbone. Finish is dry and slightly bitter. I liked this more than the Hopsickle. kevd193213 (497), Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 7, 2007 22 oz bomber. Cloudy golden pour with thick soapy white. Aroma of citrus and pine. Flavor of the same, along with mild hops and some flowery notes with a bitter finish and slightly sour aftertaste. Liked it but definately felt something was lacking for a double. brettpace (179), Northridge, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 4, 2007 This is a strong beer, although for a DIPA I feel that it is missing that hop aroma. I dont smell the same aroma as I do with Ballast point. This is a good bitter beer though, but not as good as it could be. RoboHop (21), Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 4, 2007 Orange, cloudy, and unfiltered. Moylander has a big, frothy, beige head. The aroma is an invitation to a great DIPA. It has a hoppy, grapefruit flavor. It is crisp rather than creamy. It is a full-bodied beer, indicative of an IPA with a greater alcohol %. A very good DIPA. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark
