| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 4, 2008 Bottle from Nugget in Davis. This one’s alcohol content ruined the experience for me. It had full-flavor, but that also was outdueled by the alcohol. TomDecapolis (3203), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 22, 2008 Pours a deep chestnut with ruby/orange notes and a medium creamy/bubbly light tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, tea, light citrus, toffee, caramel, light fruits, nuts and some candy notes. Flavor of caramel, dark fruits, vanilla, nuts, leathery, tobacco and some light hop flavor still sticking around. Not much bitterness...lots of malty sweetness. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

Red amber color with no real lasting head. Smell is decent - malty and honey maybe. Flavor is caramel heavy and alcohol is playing a strong role too. Decent body - nothing too amazing. Overall, not very memorable. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Poured a dark amber color with a white head. Smelled of carmel and malt flavors. Tasted of dark fruits with just a hint of hops. I knocked the rating down a little because I could really taste the alcohol. Most times these high ABV beers hide the alcohol taste a little better, but this one did not. Not bad overall, but not a favorite. guzzler67 (1286), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Hazy, deep amber appearance with a small, off white head and light lacing. Laid back aroma with an emphasis on sweet malt and resinous hops. Bready, caramel malts hit the taste buds first; woodsy, piney hops follow and continue to dominate. Bitter, astringent, decently carbonated palate. Long, lingering finish with noticable alcohol. Enjoyable, but the balance is a little off centered. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 4, 2008 Pours a clear reddish-orange color with a 1-cm thick light tan head. Peppery malt aroma, sweet alcohol, mild dark fruits in the background along with some earthy hops. Little bit of heat on taste to start, mostly a malt show to begin, but the hops show up and continue to the finish. Doesn’t taste like 10%, but it doesn’t really do anything to impress. The hop character is kind of muddy on this one.
