Aroma of maple syrup, caramelized pecans, sweet caramel, and fresh wort. Nice nutty profile in the flavor with medium-high bitterness that lends a drying impression. Light woody notes. Solid barleywine all-around. Jvittorio4187 (255), Boardman, Ohio, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 2, 2007 An excellent barleywine. The aroma is very strong with heavy malts. Appeance was mildly dark and when poured it had high oxidation. Mouthfeel is smooth with a bit of bite thats expected with a barleywine. Flavor was very nice and rich. A great barleywine. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 23, 2007 Purchased in La Mesa, CA at BevMo 10/06. Seems a bit past it’s prime. 22 oz bomber poured slightly hazy copper to red/orange and had a fluffy light tan head. The aroma was of sweet caramel, dark fruit, a bit of yeast and sweet pine hops. The flavor is similar to the aroma with caramel and chocolate maltiness, dark fruit and a soft muted pine hoppiness. It sure doesn’t seem like a 10 ABV beer. No sense of the alcohol. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 21, 2007 Bottle from Capone’s. Pours Hazy ruby with 1-finger, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of funky figgy fruit, roasty caramel malt, chocolate, bourbon, and cabernet. Complex aroma. Tastes on the dry and tart side, with a dry cabernet rauchy feel up front, giving way to oaky bourbon, figs, and some berry hints. Rich, complex palate. Well done, as usual from these guys. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 28, 2007 22 oz. bottle from the eastside Tucson Beverage House - Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a one finger thick off white head. Very light spotty lacing. Has a semi-sweet cookie dough malt aroma. Flavor is thin caramel malt. Bitterness is noticeable but no real hop flavor. Thin palate and medium body. Perhaps this beer is best when fresh off the bottling line. A decent BW. barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA
