Very light spotty lacing. Has a semi-sweet cookie dough malt aroma. Flavor is thin caramel malt. Bitterness is noticeable but no real hop flavor. Thin palate and medium body. Perhaps this beer is best when fresh off the bottling line. A decent BW. barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

The taste was toffee and light bread with some roasted peanuts. A solid barley wine. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jan 14, 2007 22 ounce bottle from Table and Vine in Northampton, MA (September 2006), sampled from a Corsendonk Christmas Ale glass, poured a bit below cellar temperature. A moderate but richly full, bubbly light tan head ensues, leaving fine spidery lacing, atop a dirty rust/blood red-brown body....caremelized grapefruits and lemons smack you in the nose, molasses and pepper follow; hardly subtle, but reasonably effective at first; alas as it warms rotting veggies/DMS show up and it starts to fall to hell......body is nicely caramelly, lightly boozy at first, but quickly and unfortunately takes on a cardboardy, dusty and somewhat heavily spoilt milk/lactic quality that absolutely ruins things, very hard to make it through to the finish which is a little redeemed with some raisiny sweetness....carbonation fairly strong and fizzy, mouthfeel syrupy-thick....this is a mess really, and it’s only getting worse as it warms up. Not sure if I’m going to bother with anything else from this brewery again, so far I’ve met with little but disappointment. smhncabot (310), Cabot, Arkansas, USA
