2001. Slightly oxidized. Deep amber. Quickly disappearing, off-white head. Typical barley wine aroma-malt, caramel, toffee, touch of alcohol-flavor to match. Full body, light carbonation. Very good, have to try a current bottle. Oxidation lost points on flavor and palate.

Caramel color with a nice retentive beige head and whispy light lacing that sticks like glue. The nose has an up front spicy malty plum wave to it up front with an undercurrent of alcohol warming it up. A bit of juicy hops and dusty qualities also persevere. The flavor is dry but a well rounded full body is a nice way to end it. The tail is brief but moderately large in flavor and quite tangy.

22oz - 2004 - Aroma is black cherry, plum, and sweet carmel malt. Pours a dark brownish red with a tiny ring for a head and some lacing. Flavor is the same as aroma. Smooth clean palate. An easy drinking barleywine.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with some red. Big tan head with a fair amount of stiffness ad lacing. Nose is very sweet, malty, with some nice hoppiness. Roasty flavor, thick on the tongue, with a slightly alcoholic finish. Great!

Aroma was like walking in to a malt house. Body was a darker shade of caramel. Tan head and some lacing. Flavor had a sweet licorice flavor with some hop flavor to it. Sweet and I don’t know why but also a a slight roasted taste on the palate at finish.

A thick and syrupy brew with an aroma of maple syrup and dried fruit. Not as flavorful as I had hoped. Quite a sweet moutfeel and about the same for flavor.

Dusty red-amber body, thin white head. The aroma reminds me of this sugar-frosted cereal w/ freeze-dried strawberries that I had a while ago. There’s a touch of alfalfa hops as well. The flavor is a big improvement. Wheaty dark malt over a caramel malt base. The hops provide a fun dandelion bite over orange rind. Fruitcakey dark sweet finish. Nice BWish mouthfeel. I don’t feel like my rating has done this stuff justice. It’s a normal BW but the hops are pretty unique.
