Dec 27, 2008 Pours a dark brown color with thick light brown head that fades quickly. Aroma is of charred wood, molasses, dark fruit and chocolate. Taste is much the same. Palate is creamy without the chewiness found in some impys. Good stuff.

Dec 23, 2008 22oz Bottle: Aroma of malts, soy sauce, smoke, chocolate, bread, and slight burning. Poured pitch black in color with a small brown head that only lasted around the edges. Opaque. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of roasted and burnt malts, chocolate, slight coffee, slight alcohol, molasses, slight piney hops, and tar. Medium body. Smooth, creamy texture. Average carbonation. Roasted/burnt malt, chocolate, and tar finish.

Dec 12, 2008 bottle. black pour with a small brown head. aroma is full of chocolate, currants, and some hints of coffee. Flavor is very bold with big notes of chocolate, raisins, booze and a nice finish of coffee and a slight bitterness.
