Commercial Description:
Chocolate truffles, cocoa, espresso coffee, burnt currants, the sweetness of a sherry - all come to mind when enjoying an Imperial Stout. A rich porter of English origin brewed to withstand the long voyage from London to Czarist Russia. The classic "Winter Warmer". Big, Strong, Malty Stout.

Beer pours dark as night...some head and lacing, but nothing outstanding. The aroma is that of chocolate. The flavor is dominated by milk chocolate and sweet booziness (is that the sherry?). The coffee and burnt flavors are present, but not very prevalent. Not overly bold. It’s okay, but nothing I’d run out looking for, honestly.

Bottle from mgumby. Thanks Mike! Nice, roasty imperial stout here. Good chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, molasses notes. Well done, but imperial stouts are really boring me at the moment.

black pour with a thin espresso head. big chocolate and roasted malts on the nose. great thickness with a smooth roasted coffee flavor that finishes with a nice hint of chocolate.

The body is perfectly black with a medium tan head. The aroma is molassas and coffee. There is also a little hint of toasted walnuts. The taste has some coffee and dark chocolate. This is very roasted and has some almonds. Decent, but not great.

For the price of the bottle ($3.99), this is hard to beat. Definitely worth having in the fridge as an everyday option. pours a dark, dark brown (black) and has a strong smell to it - almost as much as Stone Imperial Russian Stout. deep brown head that rises and falls nicely. The coffee flavor is prevalent in the first few sips then dissipates in favor of the currants and other flavors. A bargain Stout lover’s dream

Dark brown color with big medium brown head and some lacing. Aroma and flavor are typical of most imperial stouts, with strong coffee and cocoa flavor. Average overall

22oz from Liquid Solutions (2006). The pour was inky black, clearly quite hefty and creamy given its consistency. Nice cappucino head and pleasant roasted malt aroma. What you get in the taste, though, is less the typical over-the-top roast bomb and more something akin to an imperial dry stout, almost like Boulder Obovoid without the oaking and with a fuller body/mouthfeel. Pretty good.
