| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Starts with a roasted aroma, with hints of coffee, anise, and chocolate. Pours an opaque black, with a thin tan head. Flavor is strong in roasted characters, with a chocolaty finish. Nice creamy mouthfeel, with the alcohol very well hidden. Not a bad Imperial Stout. Aroma of chocolate, light roast, and some earthy hoppiness. Flavor was smooth, light chocolate, slight citrus hints, with roasted malts, light caramel, and a hint of bitter earthiness on the finish. Smooth on the palate with a bit on bite on the finish. Decent, but nothing to really write home about. Cobra (1066), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 9, 2008 Roasty in aroma. Looks great, though a small amount of head. Flavor is strong, hoppy, with some roastiness and creaminess. Overall, very agressive and tasty. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 7, 2008 Thanks to boltz7555 for this bonus bottle in our last trade! This poured black in color with a light brown head which kept some retention. The nose showed off chocolate fudge along with expresso roast and a hoppy edge at the end. These flavors followed into the mouth with chocolate leading the way toward a dry, hoppy, bittersweet chocolate flavored finish. The palate shows medium body with surprising carbonation keeping it light and fresh. radagast83 (1317), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 7, 2008 Poured from a 22 oz bottle. Pours a deep dark brown color, with a tan head. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, and hops. Flavor is dark milk chocolate, coffee, and dark fruits. It surprisingly hides the alcohol burn that you’d expect from a beer at 10%. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 3, 2008 22 oz bottle, about a year old. Dark brown with a thin tan head. Nose of bittersweet chocolate, tobacco and espresso. Medium body with sharp but subdued carb. Taste is chocolate and blueberry with a touch of carmelized grapefruit. Dark chocolate finish. Solid Impy. Beerlando (2360), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 30, 2008 Pours very dark mahogany brown to virtually black. A frothy, khaki colored head leaves nice patches of foamy lace on the glass. The nose shows big, fudgy chocolate, roasted coffee, mocha, and mild, earthy hops. The flavor follows suit, as dark and milk chocolates impart both sweet and sharp cocoa notes. Scorched caramel, mocha, and dark fruits complete the taste. The body is smooth, medium-full, and creamy. This is a very nice, big, chocolate-forward imperial stout.
