| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 6, 2008 Requisite black appearance with a medium size, mocha colored head and a lot of lacing. Roasted malt aroma layered with dark fruit, chocolate and coffee. Smooth, rich, caramel malt taste complimented by flavors of semisweet chocolate, roasted coffee, blackberries and molassas. A certain vinous (more dessert wine than table wine) quality as well. Moderate hoppiness and spot on carbonation prevent it from becoming too syrupy. Alcohol is noticable but not numbing. Overall, very enjpyable. hopdog (5604), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 3, 2008 22oz bottle. This one poured initially all head (and I mean all head). Eventually settled to a dark brown color. Aromas of roast, chocolate, some coffee, and had a light vanilla touch to it. Tastes of roast, dark chocolate, coffee, and light caramel. Alcohol content well hidden. clingman71 (255), Centerville, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 30, 2007 Draft @ brewey. Deep brown almost black in color. Burnt roastiness in the aroma. Flavor of dark chocolate bitterness, coffeelike. Starts dry but has a subtle sweetness in the finish. Again as I have stated with Moylan’s other offerings during my visit, everything is solid, very good even, but not on the level of the really elite craft breweries. mwelsh13 (483), Maryland, USA
