Commercial Description:
Chocolate truffles, cocoa, espresso coffee, burnt currants, the sweetness of a sherry - all come to mind when enjoying an Imperial Stout. A rich porter of English origin brewed to withstand the long voyage from London to Czarist Russia. The classic "Winter Warmer". Big, Strong, Malty Stout.

Flaske: Næsten kulsort øl med et lille skumhoved. Ikke megen motorolie her. Masser af kakao i duften. Smagen er også tydelig præget af kakao, lidt brændt og en anelse humlebitterhed. Dejlig øl.

Bottled@SBWF2009. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, sour wet wood and mild old coffeeish notes. Flavour is much the same with also some toffee, plum and chocolate lurking. Finishes ashy and wooden.

Pours a pitch black with a thick dark-brown head and some lacing. Aroma is oddly savoury, given the chocolate-ice cream taste to follow: black olives and aniseed. Sweet chocolaty in taste, musky dark spice (licorice) earthy and bitter. Great carbonation, nice and creamy all the way down to the bottom. Tasty, tasty impy stout - big on the chocolate icre-cream taste, lots of body and sweetness and no nasty alco-burn. I’m loving it!

Strong aroma, not much head. The taste is a hearty roasted coffee. The alcohol is not hidden in the taste very much. .

Black color, small head. Nice aroma of roasted malts, light chemicals, very perfumy. Full bodied; the flavor is a mix of dark caramel, malt, light coffee; the sugars make it easier to drink. The final shows some more roasted malt, black chocolate, and some liquorice; salty; dark. Very good.

Bottle, pours an almost solid black. aroma is sweet chocolate coffee and roast. Flavor is rich and full of chocalte, coffee and roast and some burnt sugar. The end is a little bitter with a hop bite and a note of the warming alcohol sensation. Great

Bomber from Holiday Wine Cellar ($5.29). Pours a true opaque black with no light and a thin layer of mocha-colored foam. Aroma is earthy roasted malts, wood, dark chocolate, and light booze. Flavor of dark roasted malts, bitter chocolate, espresso, and rum drizzled brownie. Mildly sweet but has a noticeable hop presence as well leading to a very good balance. A definite burnt flavor emerges in the finish. All these flavors somehow blend together very well making this a very delicious imperial stout.
