Commercial Description:
Chocolate truffles, cocoa, espresso coffee, burnt currants, the sweetness of a sherry - all come to mind when enjoying an Imperial Stout. A rich porter of English origin brewed to withstand the long voyage from London to Czarist Russia. The classic "Winter Warmer". Big, Strong, Malty Stout.

Bomber from trade with pantanap (Thanks!) Aroma is big on malt, coffee, chocolate, a bit of caramel, anise, and some dried plumes to this brew. Appearance is pitch black and pours really, really carbonated with a huge sized tan head that just doesn’t go away. Taste is sweet with coffee, chocolate, malts, lightly spiced but with a bready goodness that is really interesting. Palate has a lingering coffee aftertaste and a light alcohol bite to it. Overall, It a pretty good Imperial Stout

22oz. bomber into pint. Pours a deep black with a SUPER thick (probably the thickest head i’ve ever seen in a bottled brew) head that never leaves. Heavy aromas of both coffee and roasted malts. Flavors of coffee, some chocolate and a very slight, but noticable cinnamon hint with a sweet finish. Has a smooth, thick mouthfeel, but lacks sufficient carbonation in my opinion. Very hearty brew.

Pours your typical Impy opaque brown with dark thin head that diminshes quickly. Nose is sweet, dark chocolate, with some coffee and alcohol. After letting it warm a bit, the flavor is complex with really rich chocolate, coffee, vanilla, light hint of raisins, and an alcohol burn that really warms you up. Clean finish. Very nice.

bomber. very dark brown almost black muddy pour with a fluffy hot cocoa colored head that fades slowly. aromas of dark chocolate, smoky wood and dried black raisins, figs and prunes that have been cooked down in port. flavors of vanilla, tobacco, smoke and heavily roasted malts. there’s a slightly acidic porter-like quality and some almost burnt coffee before the lovely hoppy finish. that’s right, i said lovely...alcohol cuts the sweetness especially as it warms. i expected a richer creamier mouth feel. but, it is light enough in body to easily drink a lot of.

Wow, what a nice pour ... thick, viscuous, muddy and black, with a big ice cream-floaty kinda tan head, full of fomay pock marks. Nice robust aroma of dark, liquour-laced fruit. Drinks with an equally full bevy of flavor ... dark, dark fruit, cherries, mocha and creme de menthe. This went fantastically with the little Dove vanilla ice cream bite I had. My mouth waters for something like a melty chocolate brownie pie with this. Wow. Beautiful. (#3105, 9/23/2007)

22oz bottle poured into a wonderful plastic cup courtesy of the fine folks at Super 8 Motel in, where the fuck am I? Ah, Gretna, NE, thank you Mr. Yellowpages. Pours a fairly deep black, still some notes of red around the edges when held to light. Aroma is a big ole dose of piney hops and dark malts, kinda resembles pine tar. Flavor is again big with the hops, a bit too much in my book, Would be much better if they toned the hops down and let the beer that’s buried under them shine. It does score some points for great head, phenomenal lacing and the nice bit of sludge at the bottom.

Bottle: Pours a deep black with a moderate brown head and light lacing. Nose is rich with roasty notes, chocolate, and espresso. Taste is lighter in the roast with more focus on the mocha, chocolate, and coffee flavors. Just a bit of that mocha sweetness and hints of vanilla is balanced out with a hint of the roasted malts.
