Commercial Description:
Chocolate truffles, cocoa, espresso coffee, burnt currants, the sweetness of a sherry - all come to mind when enjoying an Imperial Stout. A rich porter of English origin brewed to withstand the long voyage from London to Czarist Russia. The classic "Winter Warmer". Big, Strong, Malty Stout.

Poured black with a khaki head. Aroma had chocolate and coffee. Flavor was just like the aroma. Not the best Impy Stout I’ve had, but nice none the less

Bomber. Pours pitch black with amber at the edges and a thick tan head. A faint, dark fruity aroma hits my nose as soon as I open the bottle; as I get my nose down in the glass I pick up quite a bit of espresso, some cocoa, brown sugar, grape jelly, and woody hops. The flavor has a burst of woody hops and peanut shells at first. The hop bitterness persists all the way through to the dry finish. Underneath the hops is a heavy, roasty malt foundation. It reminds me of that concentrated Turkish coffee. There are also some chocolate and molasses tones in there, as well as a touch of breakfast cereal. The aftertaste is very dry and sticks around forever. I like this one.

I have had a lot of Moylan’s stuff and it pretty much follows a big hop theme. This beer is no different. Yes, it is a stout but my goodness the hops come through. Another great stout.

Bottle poured typical imperial stout like, black body with tan reddish head. Nose was well balanced b/w coffee, alcohol, and sweetness. Taste was not up to the nose however overall pretty good Imperial.
