Commercial Description:
Chocolate truffles, cocoa, espresso coffee, burnt currants, the sweetness of a sherry - all come to mind when enjoying an Imperial Stout. A rich porter of English origin brewed to withstand the long voyage from London to Czarist Russia. The classic "Winter Warmer". Big, Strong, Malty Stout.

Bottle courtesy of hopdog. Thick, creamy tan head. Reminds me of Heresy. Can’t believe that this isn’t oak-aged, b/c there are tons of oak in the finish. Creamy, coffee flavor w/ dry oak finish. Different take on the style.

22 oz bottle, enjoyed for dessert on rib night at Scott & Julie’s. Semi-oily pour with medium brown head. The aroma has quite a lot of coffee, ash, and toasted/burnt malt. Hints of sweet chocolate. The flavor is semi/lightly sweet dark unsweet chocolate with molasses. Toasted malt, hint of dark fruit @ the start. Fairly dry mouth feel.

Black and thick, with a light coffee and cream colored head. Sweet aroma, with chocolate and coffee in the aroma. Sweet and tart, with a heavy body. Hides the alcohol well. Finishes rather quick and clean for such a sweet beer.

Bottled. Beer no. 17 @ American Blind III. Pitch black coloured. Dense brown head. Coffee, cocoa, light chocolate, light roast and some herbal notes in the aroma. Flavour is a bit more bland. Coffee, sweetness and chocolate. Vague roast. Is medium bodied. Chocolatish and sweet end. My beer no. 3700.

Bottle. [Blind tasting session @ Sk8viking] #17 Large creamy light brown head that mostly lasted. Excellent lacing. Pitch black color. Aroma was molasses, chocolate, coffee, roasted and nutty. A surprising fruity notes like peach and melon with some dry fruit in there as well. Full bodied with a soft carbonation. Excellent sweet finish.
