Nov 26, 2006 (22 oz. bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/massachusetts/w target=blank>Julio’s Liquors, cellared for 8 mos. after purchase) Rich, smooth and tasty...Looks like used motor oil coming out of the bottle and into the glass. Thick looking, very, very dark brown, nearly opaque. About 1/4" of brownish head recedes to a thin layer and stays. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, currants and sweet cherries. Mouthfeel very smooth, creamy, thick. Fine webby curtains of lacing. Rich flavor of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, cherries and plums present in every draw from the glass. Alcohol well-hidden. Very nice.

Nov 22, 2006 Updated: Feb 27, 2007Now this is a serious stout. Poured like used motor oil from a 72 Super Beetle. Big brown head that you could eat with a spoon. Nose of burnt malt, chocolate, coffee, and plums. Mouthfeel was thick and very nice. Flavor was simply outstanding. Very complex yet well balanced flavors. This is very good.

Nov 22, 2006 Very heavy on the palate, smooth, with rich bold flavors. Heavy chocolate flavors, lighter on the coffee, with a touch of woodiness. Just a delicious meal alltogether.

Nov 17, 2006 I aged this for about a year. Not trace of alcohol. This was coffee and chocolate and some cherries. Mouth feel was creamy and full. Black body, red/brown head. Great stout here.

Nov 1, 2006 22oz - Aroma of thick deep dark chocolate, mocha, and roasted dark malts. Pours black with a small brown head and good lacing. Flavor doesn’t have as much chocolate but is alot more roasty. Palate is very sticky. This isn’t an overly complex brew, but there is something about it that I really like.

Oct 30, 2006 Black beer, tan head. Smells of cocoa and espresso. Has a slight banana quality with flavors of milk chocolate and a roastiness that reminds me of top-notch coffee beans. Nice hop finish that lacks the floral taste/scent of many imp. stouts (e.g. Old Rasputin). Has a similar flavor profile to AV Winter Solstice.

Oct 27, 2006 This is only my second Moylan’s beer, but I certainly want more. This pours almost black with a light tan head. The aroma has lots of rich dark chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruits and a good amount of cream. Medium body - it is a bit thick, but somewhat light for the style. There is some soft carbonation. The taste starts off with a slick roasted malt taste with some milk chocolate and a bit of alcohol warmth. The warmth is fine and not detracting from the beer. The finish has smooth spicy hops with some woodiness.

Oct 22, 2006 Bottle via trade with cbkschubert. Black with wonderful aroma of roasted espresso and malts. The taste was of coffe,slight dark chocolate, and mild hops. Body was alittle thin but I’m just nit pickin. Good beer. Thanks, Craig
