Commercial Description:
Chocolate truffles, cocoa, espresso coffee, burnt currants, the sweetness of a sherry - all come to mind when enjoying an Imperial Stout. A rich porter of English origin brewed to withstand the long voyage from London to Czarist Russia. The classic "Winter Warmer". Big, Strong, Malty Stout.

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, blankboy, GregClow, and Jerc; courtesy of Harry. Crisp roast aroma, lots of chocolate malt, sweet and inviting - mild hint of chocolate as well - no alcohol. Really thick and creamy mouthfeel - wow, without even tasting it, that mouthfeel is incredible. Lots of creamy chocolate and coffee in taste - a perfect silky imperial stout. No hint of alcohol. Comes come in at the end after a few sips and are complimentary and balanced. An excellent example of this style, one of the best I have had. And a beer that uses an irish type name and doesn’t suck - far from it - that gets bonus points in my books!

Dark brown - black body with a moderate khaki head. (3+) Muted roast and mild dark chocolate undercurrents in the aroma. Flavour has more prominent bitterness than expected, lots of malt witha touch of chocolate. Alcohol is invisible. Quite nice, but I didn’t find the complexity that my compatriots did.

Bottle (650ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc, tupalev - courtesy of yours truly. Poured opaque black with a large lasting light brown pancake batter head. Aroma deep almost burnt chocolate malt, plenty of hops some tart current juice and a hint of cream. Taste is very mellow - rich coffee with a touch of dark chocolate - hops and bitterness builds as it warms, actually tastes creamy - mouthfeel solid body, very creamy, long linger, fairly balanced - solid Imperial Stout - 10%? No way!

22oz. bottle. Opaque black with a thin film of tan head. Heavy raisin and sherry sweetness in the aroma with tinges of coffee. Roast malt pantina over currents and figs. Some bitter chocolate and coffee notes in the finish. Mouthfeel is heavy and lusterous.

Bomber bottle. Poured a black color with a large creamy light brown head that diminished slowly that produced good lacing. Good fruity sweet coffe aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth rich texture. Full complex coffee and bitter chocolate flavor with a long pleasing finish.
