Commercial Description:
Chocolate truffles, cocoa, espresso coffee, burnt currants, the sweetness of a sherry - all come to mind when enjoying an Imperial Stout. A rich porter of English origin brewed to withstand the long voyage from London to Czarist Russia. The classic "Winter Warmer". Big, Strong, Malty Stout.

22oz. bottle. Opaque black with a thin film of tan head. Heavy raisin and sherry sweetness in the aroma with tinges of coffee. Roast malt pantina over currents and figs. Some bitter chocolate and coffee notes in the finish. Mouthfeel is heavy and lusterous.

Bomber bottle. Poured a black color with a large creamy light brown head that diminished slowly that produced good lacing. Good fruity sweet coffe aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth rich texture. Full complex coffee and bitter chocolate flavor with a long pleasing finish.

Poured a dark brown color with a ruby tint and light tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, some alcohol and then some dark fruits began to show. Lastly came some chocolate. Flavor was chocolatey with some acidic hop flavors. Semi-dry with a bitter finish.

Black with brown highlights and a thin tan head. Roasted malt aroma with some floral notes, dark caramel, leather and cocoa. Huge body with a slick but dusty mouthfeel. Somewhat tart and lactic front flavors moving into char, expresso and vanilla and finishing bitter. Quite nice.

Sonoma wine Exchange, Sonoma, Ca. - 22 oz bomber. Enjoyed this while looking out my hotel’s 17th story window overlooking downton San Francisco. Dark brown to black pour, slightly thin - can see the light through it. Medium thick mocha colored pour. Aroma has a slight touch of soy sacue with some underlying coffee. Flavor is bittersweet chocolate, day old coffee with some licorice to sweeten it up. Mouthfeel is decently thick, not really creamy though. Very decent Imperial Stout.

Translucent, dark burgundy body with an ample, uniform, slowly-receding tan head. Aroma is a bit hot but includes dark bittersweet chocolate, blackberries, rum raisin, and caramel. Flavor has notes of tobacco, anise, chocolate, black coffee, and some sherry character from light oxidation. Medium-high sweetness balanced by spicy alcohol and medium bitterness. Not overly dextrinous, but good texture and some lively carbonation on the tongue. A nice, distinct impy. Latent thanks to TannerTavernboys.

22 oz. bottle. The head on this dark dark brown pour was so small, that I wasn’t sure if it was even carbonated. The second pour I got a little more wild and made myself some foam. Wonderful chocolate coffee aromas. Molassas and toffee all the way through. Flavors were choloclate malt and coffee with just a touch of aclohol that was otherwise pretty well masked. Roasty and a slightly heated finish. Nice brew.
