| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 4, 2009 Enjoyed on tap in a whiskey snifter. The beer pours an opaque black with a tan head. Notes of coffee, dark chocolate, and burnt toast come through in the nose. Flavors of darkly roasted malt, a bit of caramel, a lot of chocolate, and hop bitterness come through dominate. The mouthfeel is slightly thin. The alcohol is gentle and warming. Overall, a nicely done imperiral stout. cking (1023), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 26, 2009 About a year in the bottle before I cracked this one open. Immediately I was impressed and wished I had picked up a couple more bottles. Robust aroma of coffee, cream, dark chocolate, mixed nuts and dark cherries. Smells absolutely wonderful. Dark brown/black body with a lasting 1/2" brown head and supple lacing. Heavy and hearty, thick flavors of bakers chocolate and milk chocolate. Fine coffee, fudge, and burnt toast. Plenty of nuttiness alongside a milky creaminess. Bitter and balanced for an imperial stout. This is upper level good. drfabulous (1240), Columbia, Missouri, USA

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Jun 22, 2009 On tap at the mad mex in robinson. Big black pour with a creamy alabaster head. Smells roasty and attractive, pleasantly stoutish. However, the smell is no indicator of the strong initial flavors. Yes, it comes across smooth but is still quite whisky in yer face. I must comment however, it does hide the 10% well, it is more like a 7% on the buds. Over the top as with any impy stout. Long terrible bitter finish, simply on style. Too much for a gentle lager lover. Hansen (2270), Randers, Denmark

Aroma had chocolate, coffee and hard roasted malt. Flavour had fairly much chocolate, hard roasted malt, sweet coffee and burned caramel. Finished quite dry and bitter from the hops. Not bad. faroeviking (6042), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands
