Dark viscous pour (although on the thin end of the viscous scale). Slight off-white almost chocolate head; this beer looks pretty good. Very sweet aroma. Too subtle of a roast aroma for me. Not much coffee in the aroma. Decent aroma, but not nearly pungent enough. The aroma is not equal to the taste. Nice creamy palate; the palate is exceptionally smooth. Awesome roast flavor. Sweet malt with a SLIGHT hop profile. The roast flavor is the best. Sublte coffee flavor as well. The hops and roast provide a great balance. Slight alcohol burn. NIce sweet chocolate flavor as well, this only happens as the beer warms up. Slight vanilla flavor as well. A very nuanced beer, I just wish everything i.e. aroma and flavor just were a bit more pungent. Overall, fairly good beer, and I am happy that I have tried it. rabba9 (67), Chaska, Minnesota, USA
