| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 29, 2009 22oz served into snifter. Pour is pitch black with a thick brown head. Aromas of roasted malts, slight coffee, and coco. Flavor is very roasty and full. Nice chocolate in the finish also. The 10% abv is not present at all which could make this one dangerous. This is a great bargan at $4.99. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 29, 2009 22 oz bomber. Very dark black beer with a thick creamy dark brown head. The aroma is really lovely. Rich dark cocoa nose, chewy raisins and a touch of salty roastiness. There is a toasted wheat malt component and a heavy bittersweet chocolate flavour. The flavour is quite intense. Very heavy and chewy. Loads of hop bitterness on the back. Warming brings up a bit of vanilla and a soft leafy chewy bitterness. Pretty solid imperial stout. asedzie (457), San Francisco, California, USA
