| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 29, 2008 Poured a golden amber color but well within the ‘pale ale’ realms (if not on the lighter side). Very frothy with great head retention and lacing. The smell was hoppy with and sweet orange appeal. Some yeast or bready qualities are also noticeable. The taste is hoppy for a pale but nothing outstanding that non-hop-heads wouldn’t like. A little bubbly on the top with a carbonated feel but quickly a hop aroma that mixes well with the malt is noticeable. The malt is not really complex but lighter malt, or maybe a Belgian pale might have been used. A good citrus grapefruit flavor is subtle and the aftertaste has a dry feeling to it. A good body to boot, overall this was an enjoyable beer michael-pollack (2693), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 24, 2008 22oz. Bottle: Bottle exploded upon opening, resulting in loss of half of the beer! This will hurt the brew’s overall score. Aroma of caramel malts, hops, grapefruit, resin, and pine. Poured amber/orange in color with a small off-white head that diminished quickly. Hazy. sparkling. Some large and medium-sized particles. Good lacing. Flavor is light to medium bitter. Tastes of hops, caramel, pine, resin, and pale malts. Medium body. Sticky texture. Average to lively carbonation. Dry, bitter, hoppy grapefruit finish lingers. radagast83 (1302), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 20, 2008 Poured from 22 oz bottle. Hazy coper color. The aroma is a sweet malt aroma with a slight touch of citrus. The flavor is a moderate hop balance with the malts. Quite freshing - though a little standard. markgugs (86), Wood Ridge, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 9, 2008 poured from a 22oz. bottle into a pint glass
A: One of the foamiest beers I’ve ever poured, this thing rose like a vinegar/baking soda volcanic mixture! Left a huge rocky white head that took about 15 minutes to diminish, and immediately left serious lacing. Nice yellow/orange color with good clarity, perfect for the style.
S: The nose is seriously hoppy, lots of citrus and pine right up front. As the head diminishes, a pleasant soapy aroma kicks in and doesn’t let go.
T/M: Very sweet nose, cookie and bread flavors are right up front before the body gives way to a very citrusy hoppiness and a delightful bitter finish. The mouthfeel is not up to snuff however, it’s too syrupy and not nearly carbonated enough.
D: This was really easy to drink, but the thick, syrupy sweetness got to me after awhile. I could drink a couple, but no more than that. Decent enough beer. jasonp (1510), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 4, 2008 Slightly hazy copper with a medium creme-colored head. The nose is subtle; light herbal/earthy hops with a slight touch of toastiness. Pretty straight-forward apa malt base with a light touch of caramel, then comes notes of grapefruit/citrus. Proper APA-level bitterness but not too bitter. Full, round creamy on palate with moderate to slightly lively carbonation. Solid drinkin’ beer. LooseCannon (931), Norfolk, Virginia, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours a light amber with an overabundance of white frothy head. The aroma was sour fruit citrusy with a light hop finish. The taste was slightly bitter and grassy (hay?). LinusStick (1846), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 11, 2007 This reminded me more of an English Pale Ale with more carbonation than an APA. Aroma was decent but not strong. Grassy hops all the way. Pour was a murky dark gold with a 1 finger off white head. A little lighter than most APAs I’ve had. Taste was very hoppy. Grassy hops and not much else. There was actually some smokiness in the aftertaste. There was some malt left on the back of the mouth after the swallow, but the bitter hops aftertaste lets you know, hops are what this beer is about with a tad of malt to tease you into the next sip.
