Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Feb 23, 2009 Tried this on draft at the brewpub because I’ve lived in the Willamette Valley my whole life and figured I’d support the local hop economy in this time of crisis. Nice amber pour with a small white head and a very light graperfruit and alcohol smell. Small hint of marijuana in the aroma as well. Flavor is very much liquor and far too smooth and oily for what I expect from an IIPA. The barrel aging pretty much destroyed the wonderful flavor of regular Hopsickle in my opinion. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA Dec 31, 2008 Draft. Amber beer with an off-white head. Grapefruit, pine aroma with distilled alcohol. Distilled liquor flavor with hops and light malt. Medium bodied. Grapefruit and pine lingers with distilled liquor. Barrel aging takes away from the beer.
