| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 19, 2007 Pours copper w/ a medium sized froth. Decent head retention with a lingering fluffy ring and silky canopy. Mild aromas of white flowers and spicey biscuits. Medium nectar w/ good carbonation producing an almost creamy texture. A malty backbone supports a hint of spicey perfume, a pouch full of herbs, and gentley buttered biscuits. It’s fruity yet balanced and bittered nicely. Overall: A different take on this style drinking more like a mellow pale ale. The flavor profile is subtle making this a superb session brew. DarkMagus (433), San Jose, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 18, 2007 Clear-ish golden color with a thin disappearing white head. Fruity/citrusy aroma with lots of spiciness, coriander, orange peel... a bit of melon. Flavors were sweet and wheat-based with lots of citrus, spices (coriander, orange peel, clove), and a very slight bitterness. Rich syrupy consistency with medium-light carbonation. Not bad. timfoolery (484), California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 18, 2007 Updated: Nov 25, 2007Moylan’s is an excellent brewer of fine beers, so it’s no stretch to say I liked this one. This winter brew had a good combination of cinnamon and spice flavors that meshed well with the brew, unlike most in the genre. Very smooth as always from the brewer. Excellent. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 16, 2007 Poured an amber color and I could smell the cinnamon. Very smooth with little bit of hops. Taste of spices are present, but nothing overpowering. Pretty good beer. bitbucket (2036), Kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 9, 2007 Bomber. First, let me say that this is a tasty beer from a consistently good brewer. But you know what? It’s not a witbier. When comparing it to the style, the problems just abound: too dark, not cloudy, too full in the body, etc. Lets just leave that behind, and concentrate on the goodness... Pours a clear amber with a thin but lasting white head. Sweet, spice-laden aroma with some fruit. Creamy medium body and moderate carbonation. The taste starts sweet, with orange, nuts, caramel. Dry pumpkin pie finish. mjg74 (2000), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 8, 2007 Bottle from BevMo. Light copper in color upon pouring. Nose is dominated by spice. Slightly syrupy smelling. Spiced and somewhat bitter up front. More spice beer qualities than with qualities. Nice and full flavored. An enjoyable example of the style. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 7, 2007 2007 bottle, but the rest looks consistent. Hazy orange, moderate rocky head, good lacing and retention. Aroma is moderate mix of spice, clove, bubblegum, orange, sweeter pale malts. Interesting blend, but the spicing could be more pronounced. Lightly sweet. If this review sucked I’m sorry because it’s been a REALLY long day. Taverner (876), San Ramon, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 1, 2007 Not the best Belgian, not the best Seasonal Winter Ale. I had the 22oz in a half yard - poured a small head for a Belgian. You can taste the orange in this beer - and it mixes well with the spices. Color was an amber to gold up the half yard.
