Tmoney99 (3618), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 2, 2005 Growler from BP Clough. Dark amber color with medium head that diminished slowly. Good aroma of hops. Medium body with smooth texture. Complex flavor of hops and citrus with a medium bitter finish. Good brew in character and style. OhioDad (2492), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Jul 2, 2006 Growler via my brother-in-law’s recent trip to Party Source in Florence Kentucky - Pours amber but quite cloudy and almost murky. Aromas of nice sharp citrus and floral hops. Flavor is much more malty though as much caramel flavor comes through but also those citrus grapefruit and floral hops come back on the finish. Finish is slightly bitter. Nice flavor for an amber and something that would make a nice session. Schroppfy (1733), Ohio, USA Dec 4, 2005 This is a well-made clone of SNCA. Grapefruit plus a bready malt flavor, all intermingling well. Slightly more watery than the original (and carbonation just a little bit frothy), but still, this little place makes truly solid session beers. Thanks to JSturm for opening (and draining) the growler. It’s an IPA!! shigadeyo (1387), Southwest Ohio Area, Ohio, USA Jun 3, 2007 Jungle Jim’s Second Spring Beer Fest
5/12/2007: Mt. Carmel Copper Ale pours a coppery-amber color with a soft, creamy head. The aroma and flavor remind me of an Irish red lager (or something similar) with its creamy malts and hint of vanilla. The hops in this beer have a floral quality and supplies a mild to moderate level of bitterness. This beer is medium-bodied and smooth. A pretty good amber ale.
Draught sample.
JCW (1262), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Nov 21, 2005 This beer is very IPA’ish. Bronze colored, moderate white head. Aroma is very much of cascades, grassy and slightly citrusy. Biscuit malt flavors are there to balance out the hops. While this beer isn’t exceptional, it is very good and one I never get tired of drinking. Each of Mt Carmel’s beers that I’ve had have been well made and I hope for many more from them in the future.
