Commercial Description:
Mt. Hood Brewing Co.'s lightest ale. Golden sunshine blonde in color, and like our other beers, smooth and satisfying. The aroma is a pleasing blend of lightly toasted malts, honey-fruit esters, and delicate flowery hops. Highland Meadow Blonde is very mildly bittered with U.S.-grown Goldings hops; the malts are a marriage of British "floor-malted" Maris Otter malt and U.S. and British specialty malts.

On tap at the brewery. Light golden color with a small white head. Buttery flavor with the bready malts up front and very mild hop finish. This had a strange roasted chocolate note to it, not sure what was with that, maybe they just put it on after a porter and some flavor was still in the tap line, but it was a bit odd. This just wasn’t my beer, between the buttery notes and the funky roastiness, it was just my least favorite of the sampler tray.

Tap at the brewpub. Light amber color with a decent off-white head. Very light hop and malt aromas. Medium body with near creamy carbonation. A taste of roasted malt with mild bitter. Halfway to an ESB.

Light pale malts, bread, and clean hops aroma. Gold with a great fluffy lasting head. A nice looking standard brew. The flavor is nice and clean with a little sweetness and a super clean finish. A nice blonde ale.

On tap at Mt. Hood Brewing’s Ice Axe Taproom in Government Camp, OR--Not very blonde for a blonde ale. More copper-amber in appearance. Small wispy white head. Spicy nutmeg, nut nose. Biscuity, mildly hopped and clean.

Light bronze. Light bready nose with doughy yeast. Flavour is doughy-bready with light hoppiness and indistinct esters. Finishes clean, quick but balanced.

Again, very average, but very drinkable for the style. Very light on the palate, hazy and somewhat sinewy on the palate. NIce floral hops compliment the flavors of the honey malts with grassy hoppiness.
