dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 27, 2009 A little smokey, quite malty aroma. This has a nice hop bite to this right away. A good malt as well. Great stuff. Oscbert (531), Sacramento, California, USA Aug 21, 2009 ~Pours a darker amber color with no head.
~Very light malt scent. Hard to pick up aroma. Some light citrus hops.
~Bitter woodsy hop flavor, aley. Very light malts.
~Light to medium feel. Bitter finish.
~Nice amber. I really like the hop flavor in this. Malts are fairly mild. Taverner (819), San Ramon, California, USA Aug 9, 2009 Pretty good amber! Hoppier than expected - pours amber with white head. Finish is clean. Some nice spicy hop notes compliment the malts, which don’t overpower. jmm635 (249), Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 15, 2009 Not much to say about this beer.... picture the most typical amber ale imaginable and this might be what you get. Not bad, but nothing I will seek out again. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA Mar 5, 2009 Draft. Amber beer with a whitsh head. Light malt aroma. Malt, caramel, and light spice flavor. Medium bodied. Noticeable hops makes gives it a little something. Spice, malt, and light pine lingers. jeff789 (357), Pennsylvania, USA Feb 23, 2009 Pours a nice copper/orange with a fluffy white head that disappears slowly... Initial aroma of caramel malts, then more sweetness but not in the bad way, and a nice touch of subtle spice... Not very hoppy in the west coast way, but rather a wee bit spicy without the expected sweetness... Medium bodied with lingering sweetness, the finish is where the sweetness hits as it lingers a bit longer than anything else on my palate, and a touch dry in the finish... Easy drinking, quite tasty nice nice beer... fakepurseninja (770), Washington, USA Jan 23, 2009 Bottle - This is the drink I was looking for last night. Big sweet malty backbone, highlighted by rich caramel, toasted bread, and bits of earthy nuttiness. Some light fruit accents and a great floral hop component with very light pine and moderate citrus. A wonderful surprise to find this sitting in the back of my fridge - completely forgot it was there. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Dec 21, 2008 Obtained as an extra trade.
Pours orange, with a thick white head.
Aroma is loaded with grains.
Taste has a thick mouthfeel with lots of malts and caramel. Light chocolate.
Really awesome taste, with pronounced roasted - cookie - nutty mouthfeel that is just amazing and make this one a very enjoyable beer.
This one came up as a big surprise and the story behind the bottle cap and the whole beer is funny as well.
