fakepurseninja (772), Washington, USA Jan 23, 2009 Bottle - This is the drink I was looking for last night. Big sweet malty backbone, highlighted by rich caramel, toasted bread, and bits of earthy nuttiness. Some light fruit accents and a great floral hop component with very light pine and moderate citrus. A wonderful surprise to find this sitting in the back of my fridge - completely forgot it was there. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Sep 3, 2006 Updated: Oct 23, 200612 oz bottle obtained locally. Pours a dark reddish copper with an average size and very foamy head. Floral aroma, with pine, vanilla and orange. Starts out very sweet upfront, then the citrus orange hops kick-in for the finish, and then finally some more sweet toasted malts in the aftertaste. Medium to full bodied, at least for an Amber Ale. This is a VERY interesting and unique beer. I LOVE the way the hops and malts compliment each other here. Masterful. I think I just found my new favorite session beer at $7.99 for a six... nigelvibations (9), , Oregon, USA does not count Aug 24, 2008 Thin head and side bubbles, with the reddish-gold color of the sky on the label. Smells sweet, like a wet pine forest in the morning, plus Tootsie Roll overtones. Rich, hoppy, tangy, and slightly smoky first mouthful - a beer taste I associate with fancy seafood restaurants and weddings, for whatever reason. Very refreshing, with just enough complexity to keep it from being boring. troopie (848), USA Aug 12, 2008 Bottle.Poured deep amber brown with thick lasting white head. Nose is malt and citrus. Flavour is light and bitter, with a malty backbone. Middle of the toung bitterish finish. A lekker amber jah noth (1015), Rochester, New York, USA Jan 4, 2007 Sweet but not too sweet. Toasted toffee aroma. Smallish white head. Lots of caramel and hops in the flavor. Nice. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 27, 2009 A little smokey, quite malty aroma. This has a nice hop bite to this right away. A good malt as well. Great stuff. Reid (1084), Salem, Oregon, USA Oct 4, 2005 Had never heard of this brewery before I saw a six pack of this in Salem
Comes in a 12 oz brown bottle with a olde time picture of Mr Weed, i presume ,on the label.
In appearance this a quite dark "amber" ale, very deep amber almost brown, small yet appealing tan head, gorgeous lace left down the glass.
Aroma is very malty, sweet toffeeish malt.
Mmm very sweet malty beverage , with a small hop "kick" right at the end, which prevents the beerr becoming cloying. I like it ,though I am a fan of sweet malty beers, a hop head might take a different view.
The mouthfeel is excellent, quite thick for the style, low carbonation makes this easy to go down.
Nice beer , very sweet but also very drinkable for me.
frylock (996), Buffalo, New York, USA Jul 17, 2004 Clear amber color with a small white head. Very nice malty, caramel aroma. Malty flavor with some fruit and caramel notes. Ligh hoppy bitterness in the finish. Pretty good, especially for an amber.
