The aroma has lots of hops and lots of sweet caramelized malts. The flavor is sweet & full-bodied. Interesting finish of sour grapes and tang. Volgon (2489), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

Dark burgundy, very thick and frothy... certainly a barley wine in my opinion. Overly-bitter, very vinuous and with some woody musty flavors... quite strong, with some tobacco in the finish. Dark red/amber color with a small white head that fell quickly. Very malty aroma with a roasted edge. This was a very sweet tasting brew, clinging to the palate, very strong tasting for a bitter, probably why its imperial. Brew had a slightly bitter end and had a nice hop-finished aftertaste.
