thooper41 (322), Oregon, USA Jun 19, 2009 12oz bottle: apperance is amber brown with slow fading cream color head, aroma is of pale malt with a hint of hops, flavor was pretty clean tasting but needed more hops, this was a very weak IPA. SamGamgee (1140), Isla Vista, California, USA Jun 4, 2009 Updated: Jun 8, 200912oz bottle. When the commercial description says "mild and malty India Pale Ale" that is definitely a red flag. Lightly hazy honey-amber color with a big white head. Malty aroma with floral, piney hops as well. More malt than I am used to smelling in the style. there is also a light buttery quality. Malty in a biscuit or cracker sense, with a bit if piney hop flavor and medium bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with a creamy feel. Feels like its decently done, but not really what I want in an IPA; not very expressive hops and an odd malty flavor. robertjm (363), El Cerrito, California, USA May 17, 2009 Poured into the glass straight down the middle. This created a huge creamy head which really hasn’t fallen in over a couple of minutes and even after consuming half the bottle is still there with lots of lace on the glass! Slightly cloudy copper color body. Nice hoppy aroma. Body a bit thin. First part of flavor is hops. Then there’s a malt kicker, followed by a hoppy aftertaste. Hops linger on the palate, but not overwhelming, which is a plus. Birdiebeagle (625), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA May 11, 2009 Bottle Pours a hazy orange amber with a thin off white head. The head leaves rather quickly, but laces fairly well. Has a nice hoppy aroma of spruce, citrus, and a touch of sweetness. Has a good carbonation, and a nice mouthfeel. The flavor is hoppy with a good amount of bitterness. Has a watery texture. A medium body and real solid finish with a good aftertaste. A prettty tasty IPA. nickd717 (788), Palo Alto, California, USA May 7, 2009 On tap at Boonville Beer Fest, called "Weed IPA." Golden-orange color with a white head and average retention. Aroma of sweet malt, citrus, and piney hops. Flavor is caramel malt with the hop character highly citrusy. Average on the palate for an IPA. alobar (857), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA May 3, 2009 Clear dull orange color with a quickly dissipating white head Aroma of pine, hops, and citrus. Flavor-lots of grapefruit, hops bitterness, and a touch of caramel. Not exactly mild, but a nice ipa. DocLock (4440), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 17, 2009 Draft at Craft. Turbid copper orangy with 2-finger off-white head and solid lacing. Nose is resiny, tropical fruity hops, malt, with heavy hops, grapefruit, tangerine, and smooth finish. My first weed ale, and a nice beginning to a hopefully long and mutually prosperous relationship. TomDecapolis (2937), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 4, 2009 Tap at CAH. Pours a hazy orange amber with a medium bubbly/creamy off white head that laced. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, citrus and floral hoppy notes. Flavor of grapefruit, caramel, toasted notes and a nice hop bitterness.
