Nose of hops (this IS an IPA) and some fruits and flowers. Surprisingly sweet and oily mouthfeel. Very different. Enjoyable flavors make this nice to dirink. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 14, 2006 Lime, cat pee and earthy hops in the hop forward aroma along with tannins and strong underlying malt sweetness. Hazy, orange copper coloured body is topped by a fine bubbled and lasting, off white head that leaves some sudsy lace. Toasted and caramel malts are fairly balanced against moderate bitterness. This certainly doesn’t scream West Coast! Tannins and orange citrus flavours offer counterpoint. Medium body with soft but lively carbonation. Bottle sampled with beerbuzzmontreal, Lubiere, MartinT and Rastacouere. beerbuzzmontreal (2911), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 3, 2006 Pours a clear reddish amber color with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with some mild hops. Good flavor of earthy hops with some sweetness and a bitter finish. The body is light with an oily texture and moderate carbonation. This beer doesn’t have any problems or off flavors but it’s definitely not what I look for in a west coast IPA. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 27, 2006 A fading white head leaves the clear light amber hue. Oldish hops accompany brown sugar maltiness. They bring forward tea-like notes with lime and light earthiness in the background. Mildly toasted malt adds a certain crispness in mouth, where the tea, orange and earth flavours swiftly collapse. Developping foamy mouthfeel works well, but more confidence in the flavours would be for the best. Lubiere (4491), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 22, 2006 Golden orange ipa with a thik creamy off-white head. Sweet honey malt and floral hops, light alcohol notes. Sweetish in mouth with some nutty notes, lighter hopping than the other, but decent. Medium bodied. Run of the mill west coast IPA. Sampled with Mtl crew, April 16 2006. HopDevil1979 (117), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 6, 2006 I swear, this IPA tastes like BubbleYum... Very sweet but not overyly so and it runs off the palate like a dog chasing a car. A fine, fine beer. MartinT (5050), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 17, 2006 Any first impressions?
-A creamy head sits on the reddish-amber body.
-Doughy malts and resinous hops serve as the foundation for citrus fruit and dried apricots.
-Toasted malts and orangey, wooden hops are ably balanced.
-A nourishing body surprises with its love handles the teeth can almost sink into.
What if you dig deeper?
-Hop bitterness is rather short.
-Earthy hops and yeast signature agree.
-A brown sugar component fits, but raises an eyebrow.
-A well-made IPA which strays from your regular West Coast examples, but it sadly doesn’t have much to remember it by.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 2, 2006 12 oz bottle, thanks FlySwatter! Dark amber with nice, medium head. Really nice, fruity & malty aroma with some aroma hops. The flavor almost resembles a barleywine. It is well balanced with the resinous hops. Is it a true American IPA? Probably a little too sweet & malty...but it’s a great beer nonetheless.
