The aroma is sweet with some mild hops. Good flavor of earthy hops with some sweetness and a bitter finish. The body is light with an oily texture and moderate carbonation. This beer doesn’t have any problems or off flavors but it’s definitely not what I look for in a west coast IPA. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA

Very big floral citrus hop nose with just a light malt hint to it. Just a small note of sweetness up front that quickly blends with a big hop IPA bitter finish. Very crisp and dry finish. riversideAK (2761), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 28, 2008 Poured a nice amber color with a lasting head and great lacing. The aroma was pretty hoppy with lots of floral and pine as well as a touch of grapefruit rinds. The flavor had more pleasant floral and piney hopsthat gave it a little "herbal" essence, as well as a biscuity malt character for balance. Some nice lingering hops on the palate. A nice smooth drinking IPA with great hop flavor. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 17, 2006 Another Pine-Sol cloned IPA here. This is a huge hop monster in the nose, too bad the flavor does not match up. This has some really good drinking qualities to it, it could just use a little more on the flavor ful side, this is kind of one dimensional but still good and easy to drink. michael-pollack (2719), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 15, 2009 Draught at Capone’s: Aroma of hops, grapefruit, citrus, and some caramel. Poured golden/orange/amber in color with a medium-sized, dense, creamy, white head that lasted throughout. Clear. Not sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of cream, hops, caramel, and light pine. Seems very fresh. Medium body. Creamy, dry texture. Soft carbonation. Caramel and hop finish is dry. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 25, 2005 (Draft: Mt. Shasta Brewing Co. in Weed, CA) and (12 oz bottle: Purchased at the brewery) Once again with this brewery, the sweet, caramely malts have strong presence, but at least in the IPA, there’s a mild roastiness and a solid hops flavor and bitterness to balance the beer. The mildly aromatic nose is fairly sweet and malty, with mild hops for a pleasant smelling beer. Medium bodied, with good carbonation levels, and a somewhat crisp finish. Bright coppery body is capped by a tan head that leaves a thick-ringed pattern of lace on the glass. A pretty decent IPA, very flavorful, but just too sweet for the style in my opinion. Still worth seeking out if you’re traveling on the I-5 corridor in northern California. ChainGangGuy (2592), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 20, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, orangey body with a small, wispy, white head.
Smell: Pale maltiness with scents of pine needles and citric-smelling grapefruit.
Taste: Pale malts with a mild caramel sweetness. Pithy grapefruit, a taste of pine, and a medium hop bitterness that rides out until the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Pretty par for the course when it comes to IPAs. 5000 (2579), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 28, 2005 Bottle: Hazy amber, a bit on the darker side, slightly hazy, fairly large foamy off-white head, nice lacing, no visible carbonation. Sure seems dark for an IPA. Slight sweaty aroma, malty, biscuity... but where are the hops? Pine begins to emerge as this beer warms. A bit more hoppy on the tongue, from the middle to the finish. Otherwise, a bright biscuity start, decent malt base, lingering citrus peel with subtle campfire. Body and mouthfeel are medium, but its nearing fullness. Somewhat sweet finish, a little bit tangy and resiny. Butterscotch comes out when the beer warms. Lots going on here.   An odd IPA, but not bad. Thanks Bill!
