Pours a beautiful, brilliantly clear copper hue and is topped by a frothy thick light tan head. The aroma is dominated by the citrus notes and caramel that seems a bit stale, but subtly so. The aroma is actually quite malty, and the citrus hop notes are note quite as dominant as is typical. The beer is lightly sweet up front, but then moves to a malty sweet finish that has notes of caramel and toasted malt. There is a fair amount of hops here, but not as much as I would perhaps like. The hops are nicely bitter in the finish with notes of pine, basil and a bit of citrusy grapefruit as well.

Bottle: Hazy amber, a bit on the darker side, slightly hazy, fairly large foamy off-white head, nice lacing, no visible carbonation.   Sure seems dark for an IPA.   Slight sweaty aroma, malty, biscuity... but where are the hops?   Pine begins to emerge as this beer warms.   A bit more hoppy on the tongue, from the middle to the finish.   Otherwise, a bright biscuity start, decent malt base, lingering citrus peel with subtle campfire.   Body and mouthfeel are medium, but its nearing fullness.   Somewhat sweet finish, a little bit tangy and resiny.   Butterscotch comes out when the beer warms.   Lots going on here.   An odd IPA, but not bad.   Thanks Bill!

12oz Bottle – Gravity Room – Olympia, WA
Aroma – Had a deep IPA hopped up aroma. Great for us from the NW
Appearance – Deep orangish brown with a nice head and very clear
Flavor – This was a deep Hop IPA. with some good malts in the background. The hops where flavorful and tasty. This had a slight metalic flavor also. Might be a tad infected.
Palate – Had some good flavors the hops helped with the bad flavors this finished sweet with the metalic flavor
Overall –I think I got a bad bottle. The beer you can tell was awesome the flavor was good filed with hops and some malts but the metalic flavor was off. I am not sure of the cap gave it or what there was some sediment at the cap area. I will try again it was good and needs a chance.

Bottle. Amber in color with a good amount of floating sentiment on the pour. Small, compact off white head. Aroma of chewy caramel, citrus and some flowers. Pretty solid tasting; a bit more malt focused, making me think this may have a little too much age on it. A lot of caramel and bread with some earthy and floral hops in the finish. Did not pick up much pine as others have. Pretty drinkable and solid beer.

12 ounce sample at the Squaw Valley Brews, Blues, and Funk Festival. Herbal, grainy, lightly floral and piney hopped nose. Aroma is grassy and dry, too. Transparent orange body with a nice, frothy, creamy, off-white head. Herbal, earthy, spicy, piney hops present to start. Middle has some grainy maltiness, which balances nicely with the hop flavors. Finish has some light pine hops that are a bit bitter. Decent brew.(6/4/6/4/13)---RE-RATE- 12ounce bottle from the Davis Food Co-Op. Aroma is kind of husky and a bit metallic. Not much in the aroma to make me think of an IPA. Mildly hazy copper body with a small off white head. Kind of sweet to start with some caramel notes in the middle. A little bit of tannin character is also there. Spicy hop finish. Not overly bitter, but a long lasting spiciness to finish. It’s ok. Not sure what’s up with the aroma.

Thanks to RiversideAK for this one. Slightly hazy deep gold with a thick, creamy off-white head. Well balanced, sweet malts, juicy fruity hops. The flavor is well balanced also, finishes towards the bitter side. Smooth, very drinkable. I’ll have another!

The cap on the bottle read "Try Legal Weed" Nice. From a bottle purchase at Johns in Portland, OR--Poured a deep amber copper body with a rocky off-white head with great lacing. Big hoppy sticky and slightly sweet malty aroma. Thick, but not over the top IPA flavor. Not too bitter or malty but it had that unwelcoming Fat Tire burnt malt thing going on that I wasn’t feeling. More like a pretty hoppy pale ale. Very very nice beer that was clean and crisp all the way through. Glad I tried it.

12oz bottle. Poured a very murky (with a ton of floaties) glowing orange amber. Head was medium in size, off white, and left great lacing. Nose of grapefruit and some malt, flavor was citrus with a nice malt backbone. Finish was slightly bitter.
