dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Mar 7, 2007 Updated: Sep 9, 2009Had again and loved it even more. One of the better IPAs in my opinion.
Original 4.1 A nice slightly fruity floral IPA. This is a nice bitter beer, with consistency throughout. Could have this as a session beer. AdamGott (190), Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA Jun 4, 2008 Yummy beer. Picked this up while on vacation in Portland (along with 30 other beers that I have never tried - AFTER trying about 20 beers there that I had never tried). Nice extra hoppy goodness here - not the hit you in the head type of beer in favor amongst many American brewers but in the just right to go with extra malty backbone vein. Wulfstan (509), California, USA May 13, 2008 I had this on tap. This is a nice IPA. It’s copper with a fairly good off-white white head that lasts a bit and leaves a little lacing. It’s very juicy with a little pine and some clear citrus (lemon and grapefruit) without overdoing it, and has a good lightly caramelly grain and fruit. It leans toward the hops and bitterness, but has enough body, fruity sweetness, and flavour to back this up. It is nicely juicy in taste and feel without being juist one-0note grapefruit flavour. chuckycheese (3), USA does not count Oct 23, 2008 I really enjoy a good IPA and think this is at least as good as any other I’ve ever tried. NeonLX (258), Wisconsin, USA Jul 28, 2008 Bought it for the bottle cap, which reads "Try Legal Weed". From a 12-oz. bottle, this pours a clear medium copper with a nice white head. Good lacing. Full hopped aroma, complete with pine & grapefruit hints. Surprisingly sweet, syrupy candy corn initial taste followed by a piney, citrusy hoppiness. Good balance between the tastes. Fairly full & smooth mouthfeel; not overcarbonated. Quite a respectable brew, if you ask me. fakepurseninja (773), Washington, USA Aug 1, 2008 Best looking drink I have seen in a long time - deep, golden cloudy body with lots of hop bits littering the profile. Billowing white head. Very floral drink, heavy lightly toasted caramel malt body. Lots of grapefruit citrus and heavy pine. Heavy duty hop-bomb for being listed a single IPA. Slight astringent sting with a piney finish well suited to the sweet caramel biscuit malt. very nice. DewBrewer (265), Austin, Texas, USA Apr 2, 2006 12 oz bottle, thanks FlySwatter! Dark amber with nice, medium head. Really nice, fruity & malty aroma with some aroma hops. The flavor almost resembles a barleywine. It is well balanced with the resinous hops. Is it a true American IPA? Probably a little too sweet & malty...but it’s a great beer nonetheless. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 17, 2009 Draft at Craft. Turbid copper orangy with 2-finger off-white head and solid lacing. Nose is resiny, tropical fruity hops, malt, with heavy hops, grapefruit, tangerine, and smooth finish. My first weed ale, and a nice beginning to a hopefully long and mutually prosperous relationship.
