Nov 15, 2009 Bottle poured a clear dark brown with garnet highlights and a lingering light tan head. Aromas of bitter chocolate, charcoal, earthiness and light coffee. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a smooth finish. Flavors of dark chocolate, charcoal and light coffee with a smooth lingering chocolatey malty finish.

Nov 14, 2009 great drinkable offering from a hodump brewery. if you are even in weed, you will grateful for this beer! pours dark drown with a head that rises and falls quickly. nice lacing. aroma is roast, resin, chocolate, and some earthy, musty notes. taste is very similar, lots of chocolate present, bitter malts, sweet malts, but nothing too attention grabbing. some slight dark fruitnnkotes are there. the mouth is medium creamy, pretty nice all the way through. pretty sessionable beer, probably even for non geeks.

Nov 10, 2009 bottle, pours dark brown with a medium light tan head. Aroma is very malty with chocolate and roasted malt with tiny hints of sour peach. Nice roasty malt bittersweet flavors with some nutty flavors in vien of almond. Nice and drinkable.

~Pleasant coffee bean aroma, with dark chocolate and chocolate malts.
~Coffee bean flavor with chocolate malts, fairly light.
~Light oily feel, bittercoffee malt finish.
~ Mellow porter. Good sipping brew. Gets better as it warms.

Jun 4, 2009 Ever so slight foamy top. Mostly right around the glass edge. Dark dark brown with a touch of red in the body. Very pleasing aroma of what I remember a traditional porter to be. Good flavor. Coffe and chocolate malts. Doesn’t follow the trend of other porters to border on the bitterness of the stout spectrum. Average body. Generally a very nice porter!!

May 30, 2009 12oz bottle. Dark brown color that is a little on the light side for a porter, with a smallish beige head. The aroma is rich and intriguing with some toffee, roasted malt, cinnamon spice, nutmeg, and toasted grain. The flavor is like creamy chocolate milk with a light roasted edge and mild hops. A little bit on the sweet side and not very bitter at all. Really pleasurable overall with a silky medium body. The only thing that would make throwing more than one of these back easier would be a drier finish.
