Bottle. Pours a brown body with a tan creamy head. Light coffee roast, hints of caramel and dry mineral body. Hint of chocolate and lactose. Calcium and a dry coffee finish. Decent but i could do without the sour mild taint in the end.

On tap at The Red in Santa Cruz. Poured into a pint glass. Clear dark brown color with an ecru head. Tons of creamy lacing. Aroma is ashy chocolate and sourish coffee. Flavor is much the same. Sweet with an unappealing tartness. Mouthfeel is thin but creamy due to a nitro-like carbonation. I’m stunned that this has such a high rating here.

pours a very dark opaque brown with a light mocha head...dissipates quickly but returns with agitation. aroma is roasty and malty with espresso and bitter chocolate and a touch of hoppiness. flavor is hoppier than expected and has faint espresso and bakers chocolate and burnt caramel. nice creamy mouthfeel and a lingering finish that tastes burnt.

Pours a deep ruby with a big reddish tan head that leaves nice lacing, and comes back quite easily... Burnt/Roasty aroma of coffee, toffee, chocolate, and a touch of vanilla... Flavors of burnt coffee but not a huge amount... There is a certain guinness tastes like nothing quality to this beer... I really want to like this, but i feel like im missing something that others got... I get a burnt taste that doesnt really linger then not a whole lot after that... Easy drinking...

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of bitter and burnt coffee, chocolate, sugar, roasting, slight toffee, and some charcoal. Poured dark brown in color with a small, dense, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly bitter and slightly sweet. Tastes of roasted malts, bitter coffee, chocolate, slight tar, light piney hops, slight vanilla, and a hint of toffee. Medium body. Chalky, lightly dry, lightly sticky texture. Roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate finish is a little bitter and dry.

Bottle courtesy of Iowaherkeye – thanks Joey! Pours a beep oxblood with a half finger tan head. The nose is roasted coffee beans and cocoa. The taste is roasted malts, light chocolate and sawdust with a sour coffee finish. Light-to-medium body. Decent.
