Bottle: Dark brown with a light brown frothy head. Choco aroma abounds. Usual charcoal, burnt flavors with a bit of tanginess following it. Thin feel and a solid brew. Time to head to Weed.

Bottle Pours out a black with a little red topped with a nice tan head. Aroma of malt and a touch of green olive. Tast roast malt and some nice bitter coffee. A solid porter

Darker colored. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, caramel, moderate to low hops. Medium to light bodied, lightly sweet. It’s ok but nothing stands out about it.

This black ale poured with a thin tan head and a rich malt aroma. It’s slightly carbonated with a rich malt flavor and a long bitter finish.

A cool bottle thanks to footbalm. I guess they are going for a hippie/ weed smoker market, plus the brewer is in Weed, CA. Anyway, pours a dark brown with a thick black sludge, a medium brown head. The aroma is mostly coffee and sour notes. The taste is quite nice; a rich coffee and chocolate mix, some roasted malts, a hint of bitterness and nice smooth earthy finish. Very nice.

#504 (Eddie Murray) Aggressively sedimented at the bottom of the bottle, and perhaps consequently more thick and stouty than you expect with a Porter. Maybe more like a Great Lakes Eddie Fitz. I’d have to re-try to be sure I didn’t get an off bottle.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep brown with a small beige head, some lacing. Lots of toffee, caramel, and coffee on the nose. A lot more spice than expected as well. Brew had a finish of bitter chocolate.
