Aug 18, 2007 Bottle. Complex aroma of chocolate, coffee and toasted malt. Opaque brown/black color with a tan head that rapidly ringed. Medium bodied; creamy carbonation. Toasted malt, chocolate, coffee. The finish is quite dry, and there is enough bitter to say there is hop. But it could be the coffee. Wonderful stuff.

First rate: 4.5 Aroma is really nice, coffee and hops and toasted malts. A little hoppy bite in the finish. A quite nice pleasant porter.

Jan 13, 2007 12 oz. bottle from OhioDad, thanks Scott. very dark, near black pour with an aroma of chocolate and some coffee. flavor is mostly strong coffee with some chocolate undertones and roasted malt. even after 30 minutes the lacing is still present and quite creamy. a very nice porter.

Jan 4, 2007 Roasted toffee aroma with some chocolate. Crimson edges surround a dark pour with a nice, off-white head. Hello! Lots of toffee, chocolate, roasted malts and tasty bitterness envelop you in deliciousness. Lingering sweet and char. Porters don’t get much beter than this!

Nov 27, 2006 Dark brown with big tan head. Nose of burnt malts and rich hops. Mouthfeel is rich . Taste adds in some fruits. Excellent porter.

Nov 15, 2006 12oz bottle. Served at 62° in a duvel tulip. No date, I have only had for a month or two and it has spent a lot of time in the beerfridge. The aroma is hitting me alrady and the glass is a foot away on my desk! When I stick my nose into the glass I get HUGE roast and a backing of spicy hops? and tart cherries? There is also a bit of cofee and dark chocolate in the mix. The intial mouthfeel is large. The taste is roasty, spicy, tart, with some burnt notes and alcohol. The finish is long and bitter from the roast and hops. Very enjoyable. Thanks to KenB for this.
