Draft @ Full Sail Pilsner Room, Portland. Wow this stuff smells good. Deep brown appearance with a deep smoked malt and sharp bourbon nose. Very smooth, coating the mouth with dark chocolate, a little gritty chocolate... not much coffee at all... but a really nice smoothness and some chocolate covered cherries near the finish.

Black, tan head, nice lacing. Nose of milky coffee & slick chocolate. Smooth roasty flavors splash around your mouth, yummy porter with lots going for it.

Draft at Horse Brass Pub, Portland, OR. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate and coffee aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and coofee flavor with some hints of licorice. Roasted malty chocolate and coffee finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Wow, thanks to KenB for this highly rated porter. The pour into my Stone tulip is onyx, with no light showing through my tulip glass and a 2-finger tan head. The aroma is heavy dark roast patent malt, heavy hops, spices, and a lot of figgy fruit; this one is very much like FFF Alpha Klaus in ther coor and aroma departments. The taste is heavy roasty malty, on the sweet side, with a lot of chocolate and coffe hints, and a lot of back door hops and fruit. Very well balanced with a complex palate. I’d love to do a horizontal with this and Alpha Klaus. Wow, this one is outstanding, requires a 2 ounce repour, and shoots its way into my top 10 porters of all time! Yeah, man, get yaself to Weed today!

Bottle. Complex aroma of chocolate, coffee and toasted malt. Opaque brown/black color with a tan head that rapidly ringed. Medium bodied; creamy carbonation. Toasted malt, chocolate, coffee. The finish is quite dry, and there is enough bitter to say there is hop. But it could be the coffee. Wonderful stuff.

Many, many thanks to Dave for tracking this down for me!! Poured a deep, murky brown with a huge, sticky, well-retained cap of dark brown head. The aroma began with well-roasted dark chocolates and coffee grounds.. warmth brought out the real goods, in the name of spicy pepper and pine bitterness, some deeply-rooted caramel, and star anise.. just decadent, and expertly balanced!

This was very hoppy in the flavor department.. pepper, grapefruit, and pine bitterness singe the tongue ever-so-slightly on the fore, with rich malty goodness falling into place right behind.. almost burnt dark chocolate, coffee, and molasses round out the middle, with coffee, pine, and floral bitterness on the burnt finish.. left a lenghty impression. Medium-plus bodied with a lot of hoppy bitterness, but balanced well by solid malt usage. This was a truly excellent porter!

Bottle. Pours a brown body with a tan creamy head. Light coffee roast, hints of caramel and dry mineral body. Hint of chocolate and lactose. Calcium and a dry coffee finish. Decent but i could do without the sour mild taint in the end.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep amber-brown with ruby highlights, and a nice moderate headn and lasting lace. Aroma is a bit light- nutty god chooclate, and some light fruits and esters. Flavor is fruity upfront with some raisin and fig, then a bit of toffee caramel and very light nutty chocolate hints with an herbal and green finish. Smooth yet light and slightly bitter finish. Ok.
