Nov 15, 2009 Bottle poured a clear dark brown with garnet highlights and a lingering light tan head. Aromas of bitter chocolate, charcoal, earthiness and light coffee. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a smooth finish. Flavors of dark chocolate, charcoal and light coffee with a smooth lingering chocolatey malty finish.

Oct 26, 2005 I’m very impressed with this porter, very rich and roasty with a good body and nice coffee finish. Pours black with a nice tan head. Very roasty throughout finishing with a very bitter coffee bite. Very smooth and has more weight on the palate than many porters making feel nice and full.

Mar 24, 2008 12-oz. Cute little name, label, bottle caps, etc. Black with ultra light gray rim. Huge sour coffee nose. Creamy, oily body. Nice soft woolly fizzy carb. Coffee, chocolate, and roast on the mid-palate, though the coffee is hugely reduced from the nose, much more balanced and harmonious with the other notes. Mild chocolatey finish.

Jan 16, 2006 This one pours deep and dark, almost stout like. An interesting balance of sweetness and saltiness. This has this great chocolate sweetness and then a sweet and salty mixture of dark brown nuttiness. Rich and creamy with some mellow roastiness in the finish.

Feb 21, 2009 12oz. Bottle: Aroma of bitter and burnt coffee, chocolate, sugar, roasting, slight toffee, and some charcoal. Poured dark brown in color with a small, dense, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly bitter and slightly sweet. Tastes of roasted malts, bitter coffee, chocolate, slight tar, light piney hops, slight vanilla, and a hint of toffee. Medium body. Chalky, lightly dry, lightly sticky texture. Roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate finish is a little bitter and dry.
